Currently I'm using a non-net flip phone. Previously I had a Samsung Omnia that had a modded firmware and alot of other neato crap. Due to lack of choice for unspoken reasons, I will be using an iPhone 3GS Jailbroken on a gophone type of thing so no internet.

Mine is an iPhone 2G (not in the list so I put 3G :P)
iPhone's are overrated though..

I have the htc EVO 4G. I love this phone. I was with Verizon, but had constant dropped calls or calls cutting in and out. With Sprint constant call quality along with more features for lower price versus Verizon.

I have a jailbroken iPhone 3GS, absolutely love it. It was okay before the jailbreak, now its great. Can't beat $20 a year for tethering! (At least on AT&T).

I use China brand iphone clones: Airphone No. 4 4G style and Pk169 3G iphone clone. Gave the 3G to my lil daughter and she thinks is a real Iphone.

I was really exited when I got them and they look and work fine, but I'm just dont think I'm a fan of that kinda phone (if i got a real iphone i'd be bummed out)

I really like slider phone the most easy to use in car, small.

Got my wife a Samsung SGH-T249 for work and she loves it, she did try out the iphones and gave them back to me the next day.

Can you load differant apps on this phone, or are you stuck with what is already on the phone?

Can you load differant apps on this phone, or are you stuck with what is already on the phone?

Java apps only as far as I have gone, not all work but alot do. Also depends on who you get it from and what model of clone it is.

those phones use MTK OS with a wide range of software version ranges.

there are some firmware editors out there to do all kinds of stuff to customize them but its not an easy thing to do.

Other than a toy or a regular phone its pretty much useless. No bells and whistles.

The only reason why I don't have a smart phone is because they make you pay for data plans. Sucks! So I just stick with a small LG flip phone, and if I need internet on the go, I just find WiFi and use my iPod Touch.

I was grandfathered in on the AT&T unlimited data for $30, so for that price I might as well tether it to my laptop when I'm on the road too. And jailbroken, it's not a regular tether. I can USB tether it so I don't lose battery on the phone, or I can turn it into a WiFi hot spot, connect whatever I want to it. It even has WEP encryption available. I know WEP is crap, but it's still better than nothing. It at least keeps the average joe's from cruising on my homemade network.

I've been using Samsung Omnia II GT-i8000 Windows-Mobile 6.5 for over a year now and been thinking about upgrading to iPhone 4.

I've always been an ANTI-APPLE guy, but since I decided to purchase an iPod Touch 4g about 2 months ago and I've experienced its smoothness, fast operation, great functionality, amazing responsiveness and wide range of Apps.

And then, I suddenly became a fan of Apple iPhone :) Even though I still think Google Android phones are getting very popular and they're quite good, I still prefer the iPhone.

But...since I heard that iPhone 5 is about be announced in June-July, I decided to hold myself and probably get the iPhone 5 when it comes out.

I must admit that I'm still undecided between the iPhone 5 (to be available around July-August) or the Samsung Galaxy S II (to be available around May)...

What do you think???

I'll get my Motorola Defy tomorrow, so I voted Android 2.1. Been using a Samsung i780 until now, Windows Mobile 6.0, and I don't like it that much. The Defy will be my first experience with Android and I hope it will be a good one. I also hope it will be upgraded to 2.2 in time, as promised by Motorola.

Seriously, I really don't understand why. I also used to hate Apple products, but after purchasing an iPod touch 4g, I actually became a fan of iPod and iPhone.
They're both very intuitive and very user friendly and the App store offers a huge amount of apps (not mentioning the ability to jailbreak and get many other nodded apps and tweaks).
The only problem IMO is the price, which is much over what you're getting. If only price of the iPhone was the same as its Android competitors (I'm talking about the no-contract SIM free version).

You're partially right...I really hated iTunes and it's quite limiting. But I started to get used to it...and besides that, if you have a JB IPhone, there are much better sync applications then iTunes.

With my Galaxy I just plug my phone up and go. No drivers, no programs, no ATT (US customers), no jailbreaking, no Apples :)

Sorry, I am not an Apple fan at all and I really do not like any of their products or marketing. The only thing I have liked is their computer case but I won't own a Mac just to have that case or pay a ridiculous amount on Ebay for one.

I got my Android phone a few days ago, and it wasn't long before I discovered that Android doesn't support bluetooth keyboards. You either have to pay for a commercial driver or run a utility which requires rooting, and hope it'd work. iPhone on the other hand comes with such support.

Just wanted to share with you guys that I've finally made up my mind and decide to go with the Samsung Galaxy S II as my next smartphone when it comes out in about 2 weeks.

UPDATE:
I just pre-ordered the Galaxy S 2 over www.clove.co.uk online UK store.

They should be dispatching the first batch of phones on May 3rd. Hopefully I'll get mine by May 10th.

It cost me 478 British pounds including shipment, which is a little bit more than 780 USD! Not cheap, I know, but I just couldn't resist it.

I'll keep you updated once I'll actually get it.

We have 4 Samsung Fascinates on Verizon in our house and everyone is happy. Of course I had to root them and put the Community Rom 1.3 on them as Verizon's 2.2 OTA update bogged 2 of them up to the point they were almost unusable. My son is the text machine and hasn't worn his out. I actually use about 800 or 900 megs a month in data which surprised me. I spend much of my time on WIFI.

My only complaint is Netflix app doesn't work on these phones.......YET! My brother has had iPhones for years, and says he is going to jump ship for an Android. He is the one that talked me into getting everyone in the house an Android phone instead of iPhones.

Anyway.....back to Angry Birds and Pandora!

Hehehe...Nice to see more and more people getting convinced to get an Android phone instead of iPhone.

Glad you like your Samsungs...Like I said before, I'm VERY pleased with my new Samsung Galaxy S I, even though I must admit...the only thing that currently bothers me about the phone is that it feels 'plasticky...' even though it is said to be solid and durable...I guess only time will tell...

I still don't have a smartphone. I think it would be nice to have, but I'm not fond of the data plan prices. However, I am looking into the Nexus 10 from Google as a tablet. While it doesn't have HSPA+ support right now, I hope Google will soon have a model that will have it. I want something nice for Christmas and it would definitely be something I would consider getting.

I went back from the Motorola Defy to my old Nokia 6120c. It works better as a phone, fits better in my pocket, and I even enjoy its games more. I still use my Defy occasionally for browsing or checking out Android games, but I plan to buy a Nexus 7 to use for browsing, gaming and reading.

Your phone reminds me of most of my previous hand me down phones. Ahaha I had sanded down the paint from some Samsung phone I had, because the silver color would be peeling off everytime.

My k750,I wanted to have it black. So I disassembled the entire thing including the base chassis and painted everything a Matte black with some wet sanding. Ahah

Oh yes., the button of the camera on the k750 would keep getting screwed up and not work. So I upgraded the firmware to a modded firmware of the w800i and I had patched the phone to use another button as the camera button

this particular phone happens to be from US too, that's a white AT&T logo in front of the phone which is somewhat erased. Keeping old phones alive in relatively easy in cheap in my country being that China supplies knock-off parts and accessories very cheaply.
There's even a knock-off version of iPhone 5 here sold for $80-$100. Claimed to have the same specs, looks the same but run on Android haha
