That is a big unequivocal NO! What I meant was just that a free download that doesn't have all the bells and whisles. That is what I used for all the other versions over the years. Now that I think about it I have a coupon floating around here somewhere for this thing............ :whistler: Oh and as far as the how long it looks to be close to 30 minutes! :jawdrop:
Oh well it is for Vantage advanced.
While we're talking benchmark bs, need some reccomendations for something to test hdds (performance) that has graphes and thingies to show what is going on.

I am surprised you can get SLI to work on a x4. But yes that is semi killing your performance. I say semi Killing because I messed with ATI vids on that same config and some games did not care for the second vid being on the limited bandwidth while others the only to tell the difference was cranking the resolution to 5760 x 1080. but this was done on a 2600K, should not be much of a difference as far as PCI-E lane distribution.
PP Mguire
07-11-2011, 05:17 AM
Well I'm not playing games on this SLI config. I was only doing synthetics and it seemed to do the job. As soon as I'm done messing with it the other 465 is going back in my server.

Lol, that's funny, the stretch that you see on the side monitors doesn't look stretched when you are sitting and looking at the middle monitor, because it is your peripheral vision that sees that and it looks fine. When taking a picture from far away, it looks different and distorted. I personally like surround and when my buddy came over, he said, dude, keep it on, I don't want to go back to just a single monitor. hahaha...
Either way, lets not get off topic too much. We can start a new thread for widescreen gaming if needed.

Personbally there needs to be a comparison of AMDs Eyefinity and Nvidias 3D Vision Surround. But do all type of configurations. hence, AMDs capability of using 1-4 Video cards, and Nvidias 2+ needed. So do a comparison that uses 1 AMD 6970, 2 6970's, 3 6970s. and then do 2 Nvidia 580s and 3 Nvidia 580s. lot of runs but that is the name of the game. if you going to do a comparison might as well bring out all of the stops. Because both types of setups have their strengths and weakness'. then do a true comparison of the 6990 and a 590 (these are the only cards that only require 1 video card to run a multimonitor set up.) But you will have to mention that Nvidia is limited to 3 monitors while AMD can run up to 5.

It definitely would not be an easy one, that I will guarantee it. The biggest issue I see from review sites is that they are for one or the other, nor have I seen a true comparison between Nvidias solution and AMDs solution of multi monitors. Sure I know the differences between the two and what each others strengths and weakness' are, but there are those who do not know the differences are. And one of the things that is hurting PC gaming is that very few people actually understand what we can do on a PC vs console counter parts, because no one goes that extra mile to show these major differences. there is more to computer hardware then just speed.
Now it is time for me to find a video card flashing utility and start cranking a pair of 6970's till they scream hehehehehe.

Very nice PP! Can you hit 1 Ghz if you take out your PC at night when it's cool outside? What I did once when I was testing a card was take the system out when it was about 10C outside, stuck a big window fan on the side, and just pushed a buttload of air into the chassis. Worked like a charm.
PP Mguire
11-02-2012, 06:18 AM
Even though I am right next to the front door I don't have enough cable to do that. My PC is kinda stuck where it is. The fans on this card don't spin up fast enough to push air faster. If I had water I could get this beast over 1GHz easily I bet. I have plenty of room in the CPU I think. I could probably keep it at 4.5 with the H50 but there is no point really.

3770k and 680.
Maybe with an overclock I'll be just out of reach?

Would have to be pretty high. My 8k score was overclocked with the 3960x.

Almost 1GHz 580 core. Need water for that one.

If you were talking about that one, then that's only a 630 point difference. Remember, my score is completely bone stock, no tuning or anything.
Is 630 point difference really that difficult to attain considering I had no tuning done to my system?

Well CPU wont grant too much of a difference. I would say I got a 100-200 point difference on CPU only. You'll have to ramp up the GPU but honestly I don't see you reaching 10k on that GPU. Maybe 9k depending on how high you can clock the GPU.

Yea, I gotta learn how to overclock all over again. Overclocking isn't like how it used to be back in the day. It seems to be more intriquite now. I already downloaded MSI afterburner for GPU OCing and that seems to be quite straight forward. But OCing the CPU I will definitely need help on how to do. I'm sure if I get the basics, I will be able to figure out the rest myself.

It's as simple as upping your core voltage and raising your multiplier. No FSB usage.
Btw, my i5 750 at 3.8 and the 580 got a 7100 score.

Just a lot of stress-testing/time to lock it in.

Not really. If he wants to go for a simple OC to say 4.3 or something like that then it's just a case of raising the multiplier to 43 then upping the voltage until it's stable. It takes me less than 20 minutes to OC and stress test things if it is for personal use and gaming.
