The long awaited Crysis 2 DX11 patch has finally arrived. There were whispers of a DirecX 11 patch a few weeks after Crysis 2 came out, but they turned out to be just misleading rumors at that time. Now we are actually presented with the real deal. About 2.4GBs in size, the new DX11 overhaul will add the following features to Crysihttp://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/NewsAtBjorn3dcom/~4/qCLZtAT3ZLs

yeah, looks pretty nice. There is definitely an improvement, and the quality of the textures are a lot nicer. Overall the feel for the game is a bit more real, especially with 3D, but still not justify what I was looking for when I was downloading this 2.4GB patch. I think the sound effects, and the soundtrack in the game still give me more goosebumps than the actual graphics in the game. If you have a nice sound setup and you blast it and try to play the game as if you were in it, it is a very cool experience.

Unfortunately I can't afford to have all that stuff BUT I can get the DX11 patch and play it instead =)

SW, don't you have a GTX 570? That would work, unless you are still running an older operating system.

So I left a torrent of the bigger patch going just in case my server crashed and it in fact did. Only thing is, it didn't restart the torrent so I have to wait still

Yeah but at the moment I need to put it back in the pc and test it to see if it's going bad or not.
I can never get around to doing that .
EVGA wants me to run the Heaven benchmark and test the open gl part of the card and see if that's my problem with it plus I'm still running Winxp 32 bit on this pc.

I did the patch the high res textures + the dx 11 added and OMFG. I am noticing a micro studders as i play the game, Still havnt naarrowed it down yet but I am guessing the high res is a little much while spanning @ 5760 x 1080.

Add another 6970. You should be fine.

With two GTX 580s I get constant 60FPS at 1920x1080 with 3D on, so still not too much to make my cards beg for mercy. I've always wanted to try the 3D surround, but will need to wait a bit to save up for that.

the 3D is supposed to look really good in crysis 2
as long as you don't get a headache
