OK, spent the last 24 hours trouble shooting this issue and have read a bunch of postings all with slightly different takes on how to fix the problem none of which have been effective for me.

ISSUE: Streaming Netflix through my HTPC running Win 7 (64bit) no longer works. Was fine Tuesday evening, NOGO Wednesday evening. This is specific only to Windows Media Center. Runs fine using IE9 on all three machines and on my Samsung BD Player but will not run on any of my computers via WMC.

The error message is: Authorization failure......Our apologies, we could not authenticate this request.

I could list about 20 things I have done from simply changing my Netflix password to doing clean installs of WMC/Netflix app plus Silverlight. No dice. My guess it is a Win7 issue. Most postings say not to bother calling Netflix or M$ because they will blame each other for the problem.

Any advice would be welcome.

One other item I left off. Will not run via Boxee either.

Thanks,

Paul

I had that problem before. Netflix tech support knew just what it was and had me back streaming in no time. Just give them a call. You have to clear something out in silverlight and it will work.

Thanks, James.

That's exactly what I was dealing with. Those co** sucking MF'S!!!!!!!!! Sorry about that rant.

I am closing out my Netflix at the end of this month and going with a pay per movie setup via Blockbuster. A "heads up" from Netlix would have been nice - just a simple courtesy to their paying customers such as ~ Hey, we are not going to support our Netflix App. in WMC any longer. Sorry for the inconvenience. ~ would have sufficed for me and would have kept me as a customer.

I am still pi$$ed about this.

how much is the blockbuster plan?

On my Samsung BD players it shows $3.99 per rental or $17.99 to purchase. Blockbuster has better streaming choices and, in my opinion, looked better. Obviously not as cheap as Netflix or as many offerings but I still get Blu-Rays in the mail so I am paying ~$20 a month to watch about 4 Blu-Rays per month and a few streaming shows which my cable provider is now offering as well. There is a part on the the Blockbuster interface that says "TV-Coming Soon".

Still ticked.

that seems quite pricey but if it's better quality vid then it's prolly worth it

Looks to be fixed now. Tried it on one of my machines and A OK. From what I have read, customers were supposed to be notified via Facebook. That counts me out.
