July is here! Hope you guys are having a good summer so far. This month, we are going to giveaway a nice Bitfenix Survivor case and alchemy cables. This contest will be slightly different as we would like to see you guy’s writing chops. While the contest is still going to be a random drawing among those who entered, the winner is required to take a few pictures of your prize and writing a short one to two paragraph review on the product. Nothing fancy just your thoughts on the products. We thought it would be fun that we let you guys show us what you think of the products.

http://bjorn3d.com/Material/News/2011/July/survivor_728_90.gif

To enter the contest, here is what you have to:

That is all to enter the contest. Then sit back and relax. However, don’t forget that the lucky winner would also have to:

4-post a few pictures and write 1~2 paragraph about it.

The contest will run from July 1st to 15th and is only available to the US residents (sorry guys, we will try to get more stuff for our readers around the world next time).

All I can say is this case I gorgeous. I love the slick feel of it. I haven't tried but I think you can throw some armor all on this sucker and make it extreme shine!! First off the box is just art in itself.

2769

The case was packed solid. I don't think it possible moved an inch in shipping.

After opening it, the design on the survivor just screams win. I love the "soft feel" and rounded corners.

2770

It took me about 15 minutes to get the sides off the case, they just didn't want to come out. I actually had to take a break. After a little bit, they finally came off and here is the inside.

2771

The top hard drive cage slides out so you can fit in any GPU. There are plenty of options for cable management. The rear exhaust fan can fit either a 90mm or 120mm fan (not included). I do wish the front panel connectors were all black. It also came with a red SATA cable for the front port. I know everyone pretty much uses black now days.

In all this case is beautiful. The top handle "clicks" in place when you need/don't need it. It's not flashy, and I see as I get older, I like it a little more subtle. There are so many options out there for mid towers that you can choose from. I love everything about BitFenix and I would support their products.

Thank you Bjorn3D for a great contest. I don't usually write reviews, but I made a promise. Thank you again!

I had the same problem and finally got them off by using a flat blade screwdriver. Once you get them off once they are much easier to remove the second time etc.

I won $50 of BitFenix Alchemy cables for the joint Bjorn3D July Bitfenix contest, the cables I chose were 4 x 3-pin fan cable extension 30cm(2 blue, 2 black), 2 x Internal USB extension 30cm(Blue), 1 x Molex to 4 x SATA Power extension 20cm(Blue), and lastly 1 x ATX 24-pin extension 45cm(Blue)

2777

Upon opening the cables I noticed that they felt well made and were quite good looking in my opinion. The blue that they use is a good blue and goes well with the blue lighting in my case. The black cables look just as nice but I haven't had a chance to use them as they are for a different case.

2778

When installing the 3-pin fan cable extensions, I had no problem with them, they were easy to connect to to header and the 3-pin fan connection. The USB extensions were just as easy to install inside of the case. The molex to 4 x SATA Power extension was also easy to plug in but I had a bit of trouble fitting them in my case as my hard drives are right on top of easy other in a 3 Bay 4 hard drive module. The cables from the hard drive on top of the one I was trying to plug into would block the SATA power port of the one below it but in the end all were plugged in nicely. The ATX 24-pin extension however was a bit hard to install, it took quite a bit of force for me to plug the 24-pin cable from my power supply. I did find it was easier plugging the other end into the board but did take more force than the other cables I received.

2779

I would have gotten some SATA data cables but sadly BitFenix only sells them at 30cm and I need long cables to reach my SATA controller cards which they wouldn't do if I wanted to route them behind the motherboard tray. The cables I did get though did help me quite a bit with cable management. I was having quite a bit of trouble putting my case door on before but now it's quite easy as the main cable giving me trouble, the ATX 24-pin, can now be completely tucked away in a corner instead of going across the back of the motherboard tray. I do have to say I really like these cables and thank Bjorn3D and BitFenix for having this contest.

Sorry for the delay, but these were just recently received. There was a bit of communication with Bitfenix for few weeks as FedEx claimed my address was not valid. I won $25 of BitFenix Alchemy cables for the joint Bjorn3D/Bitfenix July contest and bought 3 cables: SATA Cable 30 cm, 4x SATA power extension 20 cm, and the ATX 24-pin Extension 45 cm. Lets start with the packaging. The box was falling apart and there were several peanuts on my front porch from picking the box up. I was surprised to find everything still in the box. Disappointed to see this, but even newegg (ie. hard drives) has issues with proper packaging from time to time. The cables come in a no thrills clear plastic bag with the Alchemy/Bitfenix logos as seen below.

27832782

Even before touching the cables you can tell they are high quality. The covering over the cables remind me of Corsair's gaming headset. Headset cable is on the bottom:

2784

Cables installed without a problem and look great. A case using exclusively Alchemy cables is sure to have a clean look. As mentioned by another reviewer the SATA cables could be a bit longer. Cables for your optical drives are out not available as the longest available SATA cables is only 30cm. Due to this any other optical drive cable will probably stand out. As for shipping, this was a prize and not an order, so hopefully it was just a bad box.

Pros:
Cables look and and feel great. (Great touch to complete a custom mod)

Cons:
SATA cables size is limited to 30cm
A bit pricey. You can expect to easily pay $75-100 for a complete set of all the cables for your system.

I want to thank both Bjorn3D and Bitfenix for the cables.
