And before anyone says anything about him, Leganfuh counts as a single battle-field tactical nuclear weapon.

So, what happened? Where did everyone disapear to? I know Slug is on vaction, but we have lost at least 3 other long term folders recently.
anyone know what's up?

It just happens. I have always wondered why we loose them. Sometimes they go to other sites for contest. I am down do to bad A/C unit and can not afford 6500.00 for a new one right now. Winter time comes I will be using Folding Machines to heat my house.

I think EVGA is having a giveaway for a 590 signed by the NVidia guy. Thats why.

I am not in that contest besides here, but half my folders are not together so sorry about the low points. I will get back up there.

well, i see im not considered a big folder :-\ but i do only have one rig.

On top of that, I switched from bigadv to smp, just because they HUGE PPD drop so i find it unneccessary to do bigadvs now, since Im mad about it.

I understand that stuff happens, My rig was up and down recently. I just wonder if they are coming back or bailed permanently.

James, I understand that perfectly. if i had to choose it would have to be A/C because my rig wont run without it anyway. (same problem Scott has.) and at least you pop out a few WU's a week so that I still see you on the list. And yes, Bjorn was nice enough to go reset the permissions for me.

The main reason I made this thread was to find out if those guys are still around, mostly because I noticed we have dropped about a half mill a day over the last few months.

Cody, you're not high or low end. you are comfortably in the middle.

My computer is still puttering along :)

If I have a drop in points, i probably forgot to feed and water the hamsters powering my rig.

I haven't folded in a while due to electric bills.

I'm definitely not a big gun, but I also stopped due to temperatures in my PC being too high. I will probably go back to a little folding once I install the Phenom X6 (which I finally got), to see what kind of performance I get, and once Catalyst 11.7 comes out, because I heard there are improvements to OpenCL performance there and I want to see if there's a boost to folding. Probably won't leave folding on unless I manage to do it in a way which keeps the PC relatively cool.

By the way, what's that about bigadv point drop? Been looking forward to try it on the X6, but if it's no longer worth it then I won't try, because it's a bit of a hassle to get it running with just six cores.

Edit:

I'm back to folding. I'll see how long I'll hold. Since I got the second monitor my displays have been flickering and folding helps. I've read that the default voltage is too low so having the CPU active helps (although not completely). I hoped that Catalyst 11.6b would help, since it mentions flickering, but it didn't.

I tried folding again, but turned out Thunderbird 5.0 doesn't work well with folding turned on. A little googling told me to turn gfx.direct2d.disabled on, and that helped. Thunderbird 5.0 still looks like crap, but it works okay now so I'll stick to it.

I turned clock speed and voltage all the way down in MSI Afterburner. That's not a perfect solution because voltage goes up whenever the PC wakes up from sleep (and I turn it off at night) or reboots, and I don't always remember to run Afterburner to turn it down, and it's still a little hotter than I'd like, but it's tolerable, so I think I'll keep it up for now.

tell AF to start with windows, or make sure the little "light" at the bottom (apply overclock at startup) is lit. I don't play with voltages yet, but this ensures all my other settings are applied every time the system boots.

Just got back from vacation last night and have begun powering on my folding rigs. 24hrs flight time each way really messes you up :(

Went to Brisbane, Australia and got back on Tuesday night. I'll post up some pics in the coming days. I'm folding with one computer for now until the heat subsides. Today's temp was 36c with a humidex of 43c.
Pics posted in Off Topic section.
