X58 being aged now i was suprised to see a new top end board. Its a welcome surprise as this board looks beastly. Now lets find out if it performs as good as it looks. Nice review. Like to see Mobo reviews. Asus had to do something about Giga and their OC series.

well they definitely did something and they not only hit the overclocking well but they added alot of features so that you could move this board from a bench station to a case and back again. This board could literally run LN2 benchmarks then warm up and play games... I was really surprised at the versatility of the board. the addition of the thunderbolt card was like the icing on an already impressive setup.
If you weren't running a SB setup and on X58 I would recommend checking it out.

Nice review but you could have gone higher on the BCLK. because not everyone overclocks by multiplier there are some like myself you who uses the highest BCLK the board can achieve. Also BCLK overclocking allows us to get them in between memory frequencies that are other wise impossible. I am referring to for instance, I know my memory can do 1780MHz, @ 200 BCLK that brings me to only 1600 or 2000 MHz on the memory so how do I get 1780? Crank the BCLK to 220 and above. 220 x 8 = 1760MHz on the memory.

I agree, I could have done alot more for overclocking but for the sake of most who dont overclock as competitively as myself I try to keep it simple and what most anyone can easily achieve.
I try not to go too crazy otherwise you eliminate alot of the people who will use the board and dont know everything about overclocking... a lil time and LN2 maybe I can update some results here ;)

Looking forward to the LN2 review. Haven't got to flip the switch on my Maximus yet.
