Hi there. My brother needs a new computer and i will build it for him.

I did like a rough pick of each necessary parts but i need more research before choosing any.

So far these are the parts i've picked

but i accidently forgot to put a power supply. lol?

I'm trying to get the grand total to be under 800 dollars.

My brother basically needs a mid range computer.

If you look at my sig, it would be sort of like that in a way except the only difference is that mine is 2-3 years older. Basically, all new tech (core i's, GTX 500's, usb 3.0, pci-e 2.0 etc) but with mid range prices.

I think the case is way too expensive but i want his computer not to overheat and last long. That has been the problem for long time. I'm guessing a full tower will allow air flow to be better.

I need some advise for each parts or perhaps a full build if you would like to recommend one. =]

You might want to look into a P67 or Z68 Due to the fact you are also getting a graphics card. Also HX650 Would be a good Power supply.

You know he chose an i5 2400 right?

Unless he isn't into overclocking he should spend a little more and get an i5 2500k and pair it up with a P67 or Z68 mobo.

as for the case there are several inexpensive mid towers that allow alot of airflow, the nzxt 210 elite and the bitfenix merc alpha come to mind. each of these can hold 7 120mm fans

Yes I saw that. I personally would sped the extra 20.00 to get the K series. But like he said on a budget.

hmm. I think i will go with P67 with 2500k like you guys have recommended. It seems like im gonna have more budget. I chose Antec 900 case which is quite expensive but I have more budget now. I use the same case but I have no idea about any other cases and seems like my brother will be safe with the same case. For ram, i'm not sure if i should be going 4GB x 2 or 2GB X 2. I am trying to get the rams from the memory list in the motherboard manufactuer's site, just to be safe. They all seem to be 2GB X 2 products though. Heres what i've chosen so far.

ASUS P8P67 LE (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

Antec Nine Hundred Two V3 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case

Antec EarthWatts EA-650 GREEN 650W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

EVGA 01G-P3-1468-KR GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) FTW+ 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

I just need to decide on ram and I might be set to go.

Also, would the graphics card fit inside a mid tower? I'm a bit concerned. I've seen it go inside a full tower.. but not a mid one.

By the way, the total came up to be 870 dollars.. and tax + shipping are 70 dollars. It is so much of a BS in a way but oh well.

Thanks

If the card is anything like my 550 Ti then it should be no problem.
Funny that card doesn't show up in the EVGA store.
