A new Guinness World Record for the the "Highest Frequency of a Computer Processor" has been set by the upcoming AMD FX desktop processor. The new record of 8.429GHz was achieved by overclocking the upcoming 8-core FX processor to 8.429GHz, surpassing the previous 8.308 GHz. Correction, 1 module was overclocked to this point under LHe and wasn't stable but only for CPU-Z record shot. This was also a cherry picked chip. Lets put our celebration pants back away until the release.

YEa I am sure it was hand picked. I am just so excited that AMD is getting back in the game! Plus if it can go to 8.429 on LHe then trying for 5.0 on good air cooler should be feasible(Hopefully). Putting celebration pants back in the drawer, but putting on party boxers! he he

That is still 8ghz with only one module vs 4 and under LHe, not LN2. They are saying 5 will be easy but I'm wondering if it will be enough to beat out the competition.
