Ok So I got the MOBO I won in the September contest. I have ordered all the parts to complete it, and here is the list:
Mobo : Giga A75-ud2 (won from Bjorn)

Mem : GSkill DDR-1866 CL9
PSU : Seasonic X650 Gold Modular
HD : WD Black 500GB SataIII
CPU Cooler : Zalman Extreme 11 (won from Bjorn)
I should have all the parts by Monday and I will put it together. I plan on posting the scores and overclocks here so let me know what you would like to see (pictures, diffrent benchmarks, descriptions, OC'ing).
Thanks Bjorn and all Forum Members!!

Should turn this into a HTPC for a nice big tv man! good hardware though.

Its final resting place will be as one of my son's gaming rigs. My main rig is my HTPC

The Extreme 11 is not supposed to work for FM1 but I am gonna try it anyways? Anyone done this?

Looking good there! I intend to build up a 2600K system later with some NVidia cards for some GPU/CUDA code experiments and learning. Never enough time between family, work, and other interests. Doing some honey harvesting from two hives tomorrow. Probably about 4 gallons of honey.

I thought the FM1's used the same connector as the rest of the AMD CPU cooler from 939 on up.

Can't be cause if you look in the last pic you will see the holes are bigger then the studs that go in from the back. I had to try to keep it centered while mounting it.

The spacing between the mounting holes on the FM1 socket should be the same as AM3/3+ and AM2/2+.

this doesn't clip onto the frame? it replaces the cooler mount plastic piece? Ok just looked at the picks again. I thought it would clip to the blue M/B mounts but the next pic they are off. so i guess that answers my question. got any pics of the cooler before it was mounted?

I'm pretty sure all current AM2/AM2+/AM3/AM3+ coolers are compatible with FM1.

That would be awesome if it's true. My current cooler for my AM2 works great and wouldn't mind cleaning it up and using it when I can buy my FM1 core.

The holes line up the same but the hole size is larger. IMHO

decided to look it up myselfif it's an AMD clip type cooler (which is what we are trying to ascertain here) why pull the cradle? if it's a bolt down, how about some pics of the attachment assembly?
decided to look it up myself. found this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kt8kLMRXdxU). pretty cool unit. and no clip...

If I left the cradle in it would not have pushed the heatsink down on the processor completely.

That M/B makes it look huge. if the mem weren't there as a referance it would look like the most massive unit on the market...

Full sized cooler on a micro ATX board for epic cooling

Got it running last nite. With no overclocking scored a P2654 on 3DMark 11.. Having some problems with the AMD vision it will not let me switch back to the onboard graphics. Which also for some reason will not let me back into the bios to overclock either. I will let you know what I come up with.

It's probably just nervous, being surrounded like it is by all those Intel's..... you could send it to my place where it would feel more at home...

I will ask it if it wants to go to your place Black. Did yall notice we reached 500 million points?

Ok to update on my slow moving progress with my BCS system. I was able to get back into the Bios by flashing to the new F4 Bios in windows. However when I did my first overclock to bclk 117 the comp was stable for once. (System would stop folding or crash at stock clocks.) However now the DVi output does not work and I have to use the dsub at 1024x768. This tech deffinatly has some issues. I will let you know how it goes.

Hang in there. Looks like an interesting build and should be fun.

Little update. Tried a couple more things with the system. It has been stable for 3 days with no issues. It averages about 7800ppd in Folding@home at the current overclock 3.393Ghz (multi x29 bclk 117).
I think without having the ability to individually control the GPU that is gonna be the best for this chip at the stock volts. Planning to drop in 2 HD5770 and take it of the onboard and see what I can push it to. I would like to see it at 11,000ppd in folding!

you apparently have it's config file messed up......

What do you mean?

"BCS" is not folding for the right team. you must have, mistakenly of course, put the wrong # in the config file.

Ok Updates on the "BCS"!!
MINING! ok so I put in 2 HD5770 just to see what the machine will do.
GPU 0 (APU) 81MHash/s
GPU 1 HD57 216.2MHash/s
GPU 2 HD57 216.1MHash/s
Average 512.2MHash/s thats about .4 BTC a day
Not bad all things considered for computer that cost less than 600.00 to build from scratch. (400.00 without GPU's)
Let me know if you want to know anymore about this system.
ALSO plays BF3 with no problem with just the APU. Funny.
