Exactly why did they have to kill it? They could have taken it to the zoo or something.

because thereare so many out in ght 'glades breeding that ti is now against the law to take them alive. they are an invasive species that has gotten out of control.
20 yrs ago (maybe a bit longer) there were 2 caught within 15 miles of each other near Ft Myers. I thought then then was close enough to breed, one was male about 16ft the other female about 21 ft. all because some dipsticks didn't want them and turned them loose. and those aren't the only species out there. we have many breeds of reptiles, amphbians, fish, snails, rodents, and even a couple breeds of monkeys that now have breeding poulations in FL

Didn't realize that Africa had moved to Florida.these species are from asia , africa south america, where ever. most are from irresponsible pet owners, a few from people that imported animals for a buisnees thing and turned them loose when it went bust, like the bufo toads that are pushing out our native toads. and some escaped during hurricanes. I'm not sure where the monkeys are from or how they got here. i know the one conlony near the FT lauderdale Int airport is confined to about 35 undeveloped acres. they will most likely be gone once construction stars on that land, with nowhere else to go.

Glad we have no gators in Indiana. Plenty of snakes, but nothing to that size!

All of the damn animals are confused. One day it's highs in the 40's, next highs in the 70's. Geese keep trying the migrate, then come back to the nearby pond and try again.

The geese no longer migrate and it's an insult to call them Canadian Geese.
