Hi guys.

I've been thinking about perhaps moving to a new chipset with the new ivybridge cpu's coming out.

I'm considering
Core i7 3770K
Motherboard
16GB Ram

and the rest im just using old parts.

I need a lot of ram because i have a lot of plugins and all sorts of thing going on in the software i use.

I want to keep the budget low as possible and I'm not sure how i can make this build cost efficient.

Thanks

Dumdum,

I am surprised no one here has responded (and that I missed your post). I am looking to do the same so I can use my current machine as a dedicated Folding Machine. I don’t know how they do it, but every once in awhile, Cyberpowerpc will offer basic systems at prices lower than what you can build. I am guessing it is volume purchasing. The 3770k is out of stock at The Egg right now. If it is not a rush, I would wait. Time will be your only cost-effective measure, unfortunately.
