it has been raining here for over 24 hrs. the pond in the corner of the property now extends across the entire yard except for the padd the house is on and a samll portion of the front yard that is at the same height. Issac was carrying a lot of water weight apparently.

We finally got a good rain here yesterday and today ,although it's not going to be enough to help the local farmers though.

it's a shame we couldn't send some of this water their way. we are now flooded fairly well.

Looks like (at least the news was saying ) that the weather being kicked up by Issac is going to possibly create some flood conditions here.

not good. drought to flood usually causes severe errosion.
We are still underwater here. for some reason the water levels are not changing at all. I think South Florida Water Management, they decide when and if to open locks and flood gates on the water ways here, is trying to pump the water to Lake Okeechobee, they need to just open the gates and let a foot or two go to the ocean. I can't get my car out to the street to go anywhere yet...

You think? The water has receded about 1/2 an inch now. I would guess due to soaking in. This is getting ridiculous.

Sorry wasn't trying to sound sarcastic or anything.
Looks like whatever part of Issac that's going to hit here is gonna bring some storms this weekend.

Didn't think you were, that's just my automatic response to any statement of the obvious, usually said as " YA Think!?!?"
With luck you guys will get a good steady soaking without a downpour.
As for here, the water has gone down about 4 inches from it's highest point now but is still a bit to high to try to make it out the gate. the road is now out of the water, it's the area between the house and the road that is still to deep for my old pontiac to make it out.
2921I'm standing on my toes and the ground next to the driveway is a couple inches higher than the driveway itself, if that gives you any idea. keep me posted on how you guys come out with the rain. (misery loves company donchano)

yes, and in the wooded lot next door. As well as tadpoles, frogs, turtles, snakes, ducks (and other aquatic fowl). I saw a small bass in the woods next door yesterday while taking a walk to survey the water levels. there are hundreds, if not thousands of "bait' fish swimming everywhere stareting with the local minnows (one of the pocillia(sp?) species) and ranging up to blue gill (local name of species). the road is compleatly out of the water this morning, but the driveway dips down between it and the house so we are still leery of trying to get a car thru it. I think I'm going to start looking for a truck with high clearance.

One bad thing about all that high water is it will cause all the copperheads and other poisonous snakes to move around even more.
We call them bluegills up here too although it differs by region .

Our biggest worry here is the water moccasin (sp?) especially the cotton mouth variety. but so far so good. I am worried about our resident black racers and indigos. I have caught sight of them since the rain. Usually i see them every couple 3 days.
the bunnies did find some where safe, I've been seeing them for the last few days now.

I meant I was worried about their safety, since they do a pretty good job of rodent control we like having them around.

the water has receded to the point I can drive in and out, and should be able to start my pump tommorow or the next day to get the rest of the water off the property.

Just what you need more carp in the local waters!
we got a really good series of rain enough to saturate the ground here but no flooding.
Not sure about the rest of the state but this morning we had an awful thick fog at work that was so bad the fog was coming in the loading docks.
I was thinking racers were pretty good at killing other snakes but I may be wrong.
I've heard my dad talk about the blue racers that we have here chasing after him .

We got plenty of flooding here in Lake Worth. I love it when it floods. I get to pull stupid people out that think they can make it.. Always a laugh.. Some streets I had kids surfing behind the truck. I hope we get more storms like that this season.

I don't we have some serious water damage to the property, and the horses have destroyed what grass didn't drown. as well as killing off my garden...:bawling:

Could be worse. Could be trying to farm in southern California with no water.
