We're working on getting this forum back slowly. So we need some good topics to start some good conversation. Welcome to the forums! Hope you will enjoy your stay, and good luck on the contest!

what kind of connection are you on Saryn? Just curious. Most users should have fast loading times.

I'm on a 20Mb connection and I admit this site does seem to load a tad slower than others, but living out in Venus for so many years I'm used to it.

Hmm, weird, as far as I know our servers are in Texas, which means it should be fast for you PP. It's pretty snappy for me. Never had any problems with speed ever since we moved to the new servers.

On an ADSL connection. It is probably my connection. Not the most reliable at times.

When you feel like the site is pretty slow, run me a speed test on speedtest.net to see what you're getting. Just curious. If the numbers are low, it could be your connection, but seeing that PP had the issue as well on a fast connection, it could be our servers too. We'd have to look into that. Thanks for letting us know.

When I get back home (at a LAN) I will ping the servers to see what the latency is. As of right now the site is cached on my SSD so everything is snappy even on this LANs 2Mb connection.

Edit: I'm in Southlake at this LAN and pings are in the 300s.

Hi, is it me or is the forum dead ?
Trust me, i am the admin of a really death forum (http://forums.simulation-france-magazine.com/)... This one is really alive compare to what i know...

We're working on getting this forum back slowly. So we need some good topics to start some good conversation. I know too well this problem sadly...
The forum where i am one of the admin after i enter in the team knew a new vigor by the production of a lot of news and tutorial, but that need a lot of time and energy, and my study began to take me too much energy for i could continue to make that... The problem of the death of the forum was also because of his orientation too specific around the fly simulation, a problem you don't have with the informatic in general.

If you want a good advice, a forum with a good atmosphere is vital, but i think you already know that.

Also, I think i can help you a little by the contest sharing

I've been lurking ever since my hours have increased at work. 6 days @12 hrs a day don't leave much time to spam it up here.

There's a bit of a lag for me between the page opening (showing the titles) and the posts showing.

I'll let Scott and Bjorn know, maybe we can figure out what's causing the lag. Other site measurements show that our site has one of the fastest loading times though, so that's weird. Not sure why you guys are having slow loading time problems.

Site goes good for me 95% of the time. About 5% of time it won't load and Ill have to wait a min a reload the forum.

I'm still around too. Always up for a good conversation.

I was recently resuscitated :p.

The site seems to load alright for me here at work. Work has a crappy 1.5Mbps DSL line since that's the only ISP that serves our area here.
