Yea I saw these. Gonna see how Blops 2 looks here pretty soon without them first. If my PC hangs with it (I'm sure it will) then I will pass these.

Do these drivers improve performance so much that they beat out AMD's 12.10 and 12.11 betas?

Is there even a good way of comparing AMD to Nvidia drivers? Because you're talking about different cards, different architectures, etc. I did notice a bit of a jump in performance from previous 310 beta drivers, and even more from the previous non-beta driers, but I don't know how you would compare AMD and Nvidia drivers.

Well, I had these before the 12.10's and 12.11 betas launched. They were NDA until release day of course :p.

Of course, these are from well before the NVIDIA 310 drivers were launched. So, I'm not sure how those compare to the 12.1x from AMD which is what I'm interested in knowing.

yeah, the AMD camp is really boasting those improved performance.. well, since AMD rarely get good comments for new drivers released... i think they are just making the most out of it LOL.

Why only test 3DMark 11. That's just a synthetic benchmark. I want to see real game performance from multiple games.

It goes both ways I think. When AMD has better stuff out there than NVIDIA, NVIDIA will do whatever they can to give themselves a pat on the back.

I saw a review out there and some user comments on another forum. I'll have to look for those to provide them here. It'll take me a little bit. BRB :p

There will always be competition. For a while AMD seemed to have a bit boost in multi-monitor gaming performance, now Nvidia is catching up also, especially with the higher VRAM cards. I still think Nvidia should have at least 3GB of VRAM on their high-end single-GPU cards by default. I will not be too happy if the GTX 780 comes out with 2GB again. I want 4GB. Which is why AMD is more appealing to me when it comes to multi-monitor gaming. I still game on Nvidia though due to superior PhysX support and the non-buggy driver. I never really liked the AMD driver interface.

KK, back. Here are some benchmark links comparing 12.8 - 12.11 drivers:

Need somebody who is more NVIDIA affiliated than I am. I am not up to snuff with my NVIDIA stuff other than what cards are out there and how they're supposed to compare to their AMD counterparts. Let's just say I have some AMD bias :p

Nice comparisons, thanks CD. Good to know AMD is trying harder to get their HD7000 cards to perform better with the new drivers. Sucks that older graphics cards don't have the gain though. :/
The charts I've seen from Nvidia about performance gain on the new drivers are pretty interesting too, but I haven't seen any articles showing the difference:

Thanks for the NVIDIA comparison charts. It seems that some higher end HD6000 cards do have some benefit, but still not as good as the HD7000 cards like you said.
Perhaps the benchmarks will come out in the next few weeks....or you can put one up as a B3D reviewer

That's certainly a significant boost in BOPS2 performance - a must have for anyone getting the game, I'd say.

maybe this will help my 460gtx some. hopefully.

Take PR charts with a grain of salt. The improvement with the 12.11 drivers isn't as good as AMD wants to make it out to be. Their drivers suck, but you can only go so far to make a cards performance better. When you get so far you cap its performance.
Peter, they have 4GB Nvidia cards.
