The Silicon Power Slim S70 (SP240GBSS3S70S25) paired the LSI SandForce SF-2281 controller with the 25nm Intel synchronous NAND in a slim package of 7mm. Available in capacity ranges from 60GB all the way to 480GB, it is one of the high-end SSDs designed for Ultrabooks.
IntroductionThe price of SSDs has been declining for sometime, and it has reached to the sub $1 per gigabyte range now.… Read More (http://www.bjorn3d.com/2012/12/silicon-power-s70-7mm-ssd-ultrabook/)

Huh. I've not heard of Silicon Power.

It's interesting, the amount of slimmer SSDs that are coming out - I suppose the general awareness of SSDs and what they are has increased the market for them for general consumers in the notebook and laptop department.

Yes indeed TehYoyo.. I think the SSD market is one that so many players simply enter and compete. Really nice for us consumers! This will push prices lower and developments go faster as each player aim to outperform others through improvements. I think Silicon Power is a new player. Never heard of them before. I already like them because I won one of their Stream S20 760gb usb 3.0 portable hard drive yesterday :D Funny coz it's purple. Anyway, free stuff is always the best :) hope their SSDs perform nicely in the market :)

Ah dang! That would be nice :D

I agree it's good for prices... it just seems like everyone who makes some sort of flash memory, be it USBs and low-end memory (i.e. PNY) to high-performance USBs and high-end DDR3 2133 memory (i.e. Corsair) is jumping into the SSD market.

That's one thing I really like about SSDs - it allows makers to make the SSDs real nice. (HyperX 3k, etc.) More freedom w/out mechanical parts. The sad part for me is that I don't really want to see my SSD - it never really fits a colors scheme, etc.

What SSD are you using and color theme you have? Don't you want to paint it? :D

I don't have an SSD right now... I know, shame shame, but I just don't have the $$$ on hand. Anyways, you have to leave things like SN unpainted, so that makes it hard to paint it.
