I've been thinking about this for a little bit of time already and I'm curious to know what that will be for you guys.

As for myself, I have a small list. Aside from the Keyboard / Mouse being next, I don't have any particular order for these.

Wireless Keyboard / Mouse
2x 2TB (or larger) HDDs for RAID 1 to be used as secure data storage
2x 256GB (perhaps 512GB) SSDs for RAID 0 to replace my current 3x 320GB RAID 0 for games
3.5in USB 3.0 card reader
PSU
Case
Motherboard

Well, looking at this list, it doesn't seem to be a "small" list now that I've actually written all this stuff down. LOL

Only thing I could think of would be a couple of 256GB Vectors, but I don't really need them.

ASRock Extreme 11 to bring my 3960x back.
Socket 2011 water block
4TB drives for my server x2
Some hot swap bays because my server case isn't very large and will tidy things up.
OCZ Revodrive
New case for main rig (still in debate)
External BD burner for server
USB3 enclosure upgrade for external drive
Keyboard update
3 NEC monitors (upgraded version of my current).

I haven't given it too much thought about details but I would want these once the xmas debt is paid off:

SSD
Another hdd
new speakers
additional monitor (need to somehow make desk room)
and if I come into a lot of money (helloooo tax return), maybe build a dedicated test rig.

Ah, if I were rich, I want a dedicated nerd room (that's not my bedroom) complete with the latest and greatest tech, multiple computers, a projector, LotR movie posters... aaahh

I think just about all of us here would want most of this. I'd take it all except the LotR posters and projector :-P

I pretty much had that at our old house. Didn't have latest tech, but game posters, my server, gaming laptop, secondary gaming rig capable of BF3, projector, consoles, ect. In my new house I will be doing the same thing again except even better. I'll have to buy a new projector for that room because my current one will be going in the living room. I will never buy a TV again.

Ugh, I can't wait for the day that I can get my PC hooked up to a monitor again! The saturation on the TV doesn't make any of the colors seem right when using my computer. But, for everything else (DVDs, 360, regular TV), all the colors look perfect.

Change the setting in the CCC so the PC thinks it is an HDMI monitor instead of a TV. I had the same issue using HDMI on my Asus monitors thinking HDMI for PC was total crap till I learned later that if the PC thinks it's a TV it changes settings washing colors and blacks out bad. There is also a noticeable input lag when it does this.

Edit: After re-Googling the issue, it is an RGB limited color range issue for TVs on HDMI.

Wha, why? An hd projector would be awesome! Can you imagine playing on something that completely takes up one side of your wall along with theater grade sound system?! That'd be awesome! Yeah it's higher maintenance with lighting being an issue, but that's what the 60+ inch LED on the other wall in my fantasy room is for =p.

As for the posters, I'd pick ones that are tasteful and they HAVE to be framed.

Lighting isn't as much of an issue as some claim. I can watch a movie easily with a light on in the kitchen and do it all the time. Modern projectors can last up to 3000 or more hours on a single bulb so that isn't too much of a problem either. I quite like my 120" screen for almost anything.

Because Eyefinity on 5x 1920 x 1200 monitors (portrait, so it'd be 6000x1920) is better than a wall being your monitor ;).

Actually, projectors are so much better if you have a racing setup. I speak with experience. Especially if you are doing what I want to do. 3x projectors with screens = no annoying and ridiculously stupid bezel. Not to mention, the size of your room is the limit.

Exactly, 'cause the bigger it is, the more pleasurable the experience

Exactly, 'cause the bigger it is, the more pleasurable the experience :grin:I agree to an extent. I'm not sure I would be able to game on a real theater size screen. I also can't game BF3 on my projector cause it feels weird to look across the room and not at a screen.

Which is why I'd rather have 3x monitors that push at least 1920x1200 and put them in Eyefinity or Surround.

If I had a room setup for it I would have no problems. My wall is about 15ft away from my computer desk so it just feels weird. If I moved the table I could do it, but then my cable couldn't reach lol.

I can't stand the bezels. People say oh you can't see them and I call BS. They are very annoying.

Edit: Since we're on the topic. I just sent the creator of this portable setup a message asking him if he does 1080p setups yet, and how much a personal setup with a bigger screen would cost. I love the curved screen because it looks more realistic and there is NO monitor setup that can top that.

Woah! That's pretty slick! But I don't know if the curve would work well with anything else other than a flying simulator or a racing game

It has a 500 dollar piece of software that pre-curves the render and he said it taxes the CPU pretty heavily. He said a grand will get me the custom portable screen setup with the 180 degree curve and the software with a custom click and go setup file basically. The only thing I don't like is he said it needs to be done with 3 720p projectors due to the throw on the 1080p projectors not being close enough. Not sure I would be cool with 720p considering 1080p is so mainstream now.

Anywho, I wouldn't mind playing BF3 with a 180 degree screen. See all the things!
