I got enough gift certs from family, friends, and co-workers to upgrade my PC. Yay! A few small things like clothes, tea pot (I'm a tea addict),and wallet, too. A nice year for haulage! Highlights from my kids' stash:
A LOTR crossbow - Everyone is having fun shooting each other!
Hot Wheels - We have two slot car tracks set up now and the Hot Wheels track goes together today. Racing cars = good times!
Boss Metal Zone effects pedal - For my oldest son's Fat Strat. The sweet sounds of guitar distortion are wafting through the house. Screw Christmas carols, I want to rock!

My son got a bunch of games for his nintendo DS. That little handheld kicks butt. All he had before for it was the Dog game and it sucked. Santa dropped off Star Wars Battlefront 2 for him also for the PC. It is nice having kids so you can still get toys for Christmas.
The kids made out like bandits. As for my wife and I, this was under the tree..... well it wouldn't fit under the tree so it sat out in the driveway.

Great car (nice gift)!
My wife and I don't have kids (only cats!) and we generally try to be frugal with gifts. The gift she liked best was this (http://www.livesciencestore.com/56810.html) (seriously, it was her favorite gift), which is one of the reasons I love her. It's not every woman who prefers fun science stuff, as opposed to say, expensive jewelry. (She'd rather we save our money for big, expensive vacations instead.)
My main present was some new bicycle gear.
The, um, "best" part of new biking equipment is the *pain*.
I got some "clipless shoes & pedals", which are special cycling shoes that have a quick connect/disconnect system which locks onto matching spring-loaded-metal-cage-type pedals. They really help your cycling efficiency, all the professionals use them, and *everyone* falls over a few times learning to use them. I've been seriously riding for over 2 years and (reluctantly) decided it was time to take the plunge & upgrade to a clipless pedal system.
Luckily, there was no loss-of-blood this time. However, I now have the worst bruise my wife has ever seen on me (in 25 years!). Still, I'm not about to give up: After I fell, I continued riding (for an hour & a half!).

Cool gift for your wife, Neal! There's a companion to that item called "Gothic Graveyard Garden". It's all spooky-themed plants. I may have to get one for myself as a post-Christmas gift. We definitely need pics of your bruise!
True biking story: A friend of mine is VERY serious about biking. He recently bought a Quintana Roo racing bike. In his first race he finished far slower than he expected, so he took it back to the bike shop and found out the frame wasn't straight, causing a tire to rub. The factory sent him a replacement frame, but it was also out of tolerance and had the same problem. The really bad part is that they took way too long to even respond to his problem. After threats to create a QuintanaRooSucks Web site on his part, they eventually got it right and sent him a completely NEW bike with an upgraded frame ($1000 better!) so now he has a new bike, two complete sets of parts, and all for the price of one lesser model. He's quite happy with them now. :)

We definitely need pics of your bruise!
Are you sure you want to see it? (It's on my butt.) Click on the link to see my new bruise - it's about 5 inches (125 mm) across. (Sorry for the quality of the pic, it's a reflection in the bathroom mirror.)
Thank goodness I was wearing thickly padded bike shorts! (I'm lucky I didn't break a hip or something.)

Dude that is sick  Only getting injuries shows how determined you are. I had a really bad injuries on my knee about 3 yrs ago from biking. I took a big spill and a chunk of skin got scraped off my knee and got infected. I guess when it gets infected it isn't a scratch. You can sorta see the scare still. On another note I got clothes and comuter parts from Santa.

Not that's even grosser! Dude, somebody ran over commuters, took their body parts, and gave them to you?!?!? You zombies make me sick! Wait, you must have meant "computer" parts. Never mind.

werty316, ouch! I hope you have no permanent problems with your knee.
My last big spill was a little over a year ago, when I got some aerobars (special handlebars). I took quite a spill when I was first learning to use them and scraped off a 1-inch wide strip of skin, right down the center of my face (forehead to chin). I was a mess. Luckily, I was wearing my helmet and didn't suffer any major injuries.
The thing is, this time, I was being extra-careful and still managed to hurt myself. :(

ROFLMAO!!!! Sad thing is, that's pretty much what I was thinking when I read his post the first time.
I, well, the wife and I got myself a brand new Ibanez BTB405QM 5 string bass (transparent black) and a new Crate BT100 100 watt bass amp. Sweet heavenly lows and crisp highs that rip through "For Whom the Bell Tolls" like you wouldn't beleive.
That was all I wanted and I got that in the middle of November  I also scored F.E.A.R., some chocalates, boxers and socks.
I helped bring my parents into the digital age by getting them a Sony DSC-S90 camera and a 256 MB stick for it. For what they'll use it for, this camera is more than enough to handle the job.
My wife wanted shower doors to replace the curtain (I don't blame her, that curtain is nasty), so I bought a decent set of those. I also bought a new "over the range" microwave to replace the one she blew up  I also intend to give her $500 to spend on what ever she wants (I know it's after Christmas, but it's easier this way).
The kids got toys and clothes. They're too young to get any cool toys that Daddy wants to play with, so there's no need to mention exact items.

The big ticket items at my house were 2 Nintendo DS. Those are nice!
Of course, coming back to find the heat off was a bummer. Fortunately no pipes froze.

Great gifts, guys! Hope that wound heals up soon Neal! It's a doozie!
My girl has quite the banana-blood, she gets bruises in her sleep practically...I'm the total opposite, I can slam my face into concrete and come off with nothing. I certainly have never taken a spill that would result in that sort of a bruise, though!

Sadly, no computer stuff this X-Mas, as I am currently a PSP junkie :P so I received a couple of games for the system.
Other than that, it was mostly smaller items like clothes, action figures and whatnot :) I'm happy with what I received :)

Well for Christmas 2006, my wife found out she was pregnant with our third and last child.
I received the usual boring socks, underwear.
I bought my oldest son a PS-2 and some games. He was 6 at the time.
My middle son was 18months old and got the usual toddler toys, and clothes
For my wife I bought her a Cashmere sweater(its a yearly christmas thing) I bought her a diamond necklace with pink saphire jewels. I also bought her some gimicky baking thing advertised on TV.
