View Full Version : Prince of Persia trilogy
I'd like to share with you my impressions of the Prince of Persia trilogy.
I think this trilogy has invented itself every time around.
The story line is perfect, the voice acting and the graphics are incredible, great combat system, amazing environmental puzzles and the best gameplay ever!
I warmly recommend this trilogy, amazing experience!
Also, I think the third (The Two Thrones) is the best...

I just beat the first one finally on the gamecube. It's a great game and I'm looking forward to playing the 2nd on my PC; then I'll buy Two Thrones.
The PoP team definitely deserves props for creating 3 good games in a series. Not many teams can claim that. 8)
Good for you!
The first one is soft and not too violent...
The second (Warrior within) is the exact opposite, lots of blood, decapitating enemies heads etc.
They improved the combat system greatly in Warrior Within.
Lots of weapon combos, grabbing, throwing, strangling enemies.
it has a darker tone comparing to the fairy tale atmosphere that the first one created...
The great thing in the second game is the plot.
It involves time traveling and I loved it.
Some events you see during the games are not understandable until later, when you travel through time...
Also, you'll be exploring in the same areas in two different time periods, which is a nice idea as well.
It reminded me a bit of Back to the future film which I really loved :)
Anyway, go for it, perfect game!!!
P.S
The third (Two Thrones), is the best in the series in my opinion since he merges the good things in both of its predecessors, so you have a lot to look forward to.
I, personally, envy you, since you have two more POP games ahead of you and I have none.

Away at school one of my buds played Sands of Time on the xbox and i was impressed by this game. Graphics wre great snad the concept to solve the puzzles is a neat idea. All around a great game to a great series.
I never saw it on the Xbox.
I guess it looks better then on the PS2.
I played the first one on the PS2 and the other two on the PC (I sold the PS2 after completing The Sands Of Time)
I think the gaming experience on the PS2 with the analog stick was more fun then using the keyboard...
But the down side is the graphics, the game looks much better on a PC with a good video card...

I didnt like any of Prince of Persia. It was hard to play on the computer without a joystick.

I like the game because it has the same great environmental puzzles loved from the first two games; lengthy, well-paced campaign; speed kills keep the action moving; fun and challenging boss fights; prince lost the baditude.
The bad part is that certain scenes rely too much on trial and error; start of story cause confusion for series veterans; some minor sound/save glitches
I have the trilogy on the Xbox, but I just got Two Thrones, so I don't have an opinion about it yet (except that I'm excited to play it). For me, these games are the type that are perfect for consoles, or PC with a controller. The PoP games are right up there with Ninja Gaiden, Halo 1/2, HL 1/2, etc. as some of the best I've ever played!

I heard about it a few months ago...
I am waiting for the movie, although my expectations are low...
As you know, the movies based on games (Tomb Raider, Doom, Matrix games etc.) are really disappointing, as are the games based on movies.
I sure hope I will be worng and the movie will keep the great things that the game brought.

The new Prince of Persia Trilogy of games are fantastic, and a guideline for all of the developers who wish to know how to update a franchise and how to do it right
I do hope that they continue on with more PoP games, as it would be sad to stop such a great franchise... but I do not wish for it to become a pale shadow of its former self by releasing cookie-cutter sequels a la Tomb Raider
First of all, please do not use the name Tomb Raider within the same sentence you use PoP ;)
I really wish developers will take it as an example of how to make a perfect action adventure game.
It is just bliss!
By the way, did you know there is a movie based on Prince Of Persia coming out in the future?
The film version will not follow the videogame exactly but will be inspired by the game's characters.

Ugh, I am weary of ANY videogame-to-movie translation (seen Doom? ) ...but I will try to keep an open mind about the potential of a live aciton PoP movie  :D

I haven't played the first one.
I really liked the second one.
The third one was so so.
I think the second one is the best by far. Better story, puzzles, and just more fun overall.

In my opinion, the third one was definitely, by far, the best.
The second one was darker and bloody, although it was amazing as well.
The second had a better plot, I'll give you that...
The third one has stealth moves and more elements to puzzles with very interesting (huge) boss fights.
In global, it took the good side from the first and second, creating a perfect end to this trilogy!
