HD Format Question

I have a 300GB HD and split it into 2x150GB partitions, drive C: and D: for example. I would choose to install windows on drive C: and I would format it during the installation steps. Will this format the whole drive meaning both partition C: and D: or will it just format C: ? I only want to format C:

I beleive it will not erease both.
You will keep D and have a 150 somewhere with nothing on it.

A most interesting question....
I think I would have to agree with Schwarz, as you would be formatting C: and therefore D: would/should remain untouched... if you end up trying it, be sure to let us know what happened :)
