Up to very recently after the success of the Xbox Live ! service
the japanese giant Sony has said that it would leave
it to independent publisher for such details.

After a 33 question survey asking exceedingly onliney things like: "On a typical day, how often do you play games online?" And wondering whether, "game lobbies should be based geographically," reporters got suspicious.

According to gameshout, Sony has already confirmed that it will offer online services for the PS3.

All in all I just hope this won't delais the release date of the PS3.

Yes, gamers will be online, and online in a big way on the PS3. I believe that Sony is taking a page out of Microsoft's playbook and creating an X-Box Live-ish experience.... and who wouldn't blame them? X-Box Live is a great success, and Sony doesn't want to miss the boat again... (let's face it, PS2 online isn't exactly great...)

Hehe but one thing though.
Console gaming will never beat PC gaming !

LOL! I used to think that too... but I've since formed the opinion that the comparison isn't really fair anymore. PC and console gaming are now 2 very different beasts.

Console gaming has become very mainstream and is in danger of becoming (or should that be past tense?) just another money maker similar to the film industry, where originality and innovation take a back seat to $$$ Console gaming also thrives in the sports game arena, as well as any platformer... ever tried playing one without a game pad? You may as well just give up now....

PC gaming, for the most part, is still a very niche hobby, as it usually takes a little more than just popping in the game and playing it... IE: installation, graphics tweaks, etc. PC gaming thrives in the FPS, RTS & MMO categories.... every try playing a FPS with a gamepad? Thanks, but no thanks, I need me my keyboard & mouse combo...

Oh, and while PC graphics will always beat console graphics, in the end it's the gameplay that matters. It can be as pretty as you want, but if it's unplayable, then what's the point?

I'm not hating on PC or console gaming, it's just a conclusion that I've arrived at  I love gaming on both my computer, PS2 & PSP :D

Well I guess your right but see i'm an old school gamer.
NES SNES GENESIS and so on.
So basically I play emulators on my PC with a Playstation 2 controller.
If you ever need a link for PS2 to USB devices here it is

Like I said earlier why buy cheap rip offs of PS2 controller for PC when you can use the original !
Anyways good platformers aren't being made anymore.
I mean dont tell me you like Spyro :p
But I guess for the sports domain you are right...

Ah yes, I forgot about emulators.... I'm all for old-school gaming  :)

Also forgot abouth PS2 to USB adaptor.... which is really dumb of me, seeing as how I own one! :P  I just haven't used it in a while....

And I will admit the first Spyro for PS1 was really good for the time... other recent platformers that come to mind include the new Prince of Persia series and the Sly Cooper series, both great stuff folks, highly recommended :D

No but I mean would you compare a platformer like Spyro to let's say Metroid or Megaman ?
I been playing all the megaman zeros recently.
I really love old school sprite like characters instead of messed up polygon people.
Its like the Suikoden series on PSX if anyone ever played it.
They first 2 were 2 day and i LOVED them.
Now they messed them up you dont even have the feel of the game anymore.
But I mean this is my opinion.

SUIKODEN 1 & 2 RULED!!!! They are fantastic RPG's, two of my fav's :D :D too bad about 3 & 4... I was interested in tracking them down for my PS2, but if they're nothing like the first 2 games, then I won't bother... :(

As for Megaman, I bought the MM Collection the day it was released, currently on MM3 I think... they're harder then I remember... (where's the damn "duck" button?!) :P

Oh, and 2D ALSO RULES! We don't need no stinkin' 3D :P

Hey right on tomato.
BTW try Megaman Zero from 1 to 4.
Very good story
well good its megaman you know... and HARD AS HELL.
I tell you I mean it is harder then the oldschool megaman.
I just beat megaman Zero 4 and the last boss ...wow...
Well maybe if you take your time and get crappy rankings then its easy but I had A and S rankings...
