I would like you guy`s opinion on this.
I personnaly prefer PC gaming.
Back in the days I didnt care about PC gaming I would rather play my Super Nintendo. (Ahhh the good old times)
( Crono trigger and Final Fanatsy 3 )
Anyways i could go on with all my favorite SNES games but this is not the topic today :p

If I had to choose one (how dare you make us choose just one! :P ) in the end I would choose console gaming... sure it may not look as pretty as it PC counterpart, but console are way more user-friendly, and offer a great diversity of different games & genres. :)

most PC games get ported to the consoles (or vice versa) so I wouldn't really be missing out on any games. And if I HAD to, I guess I could get used to playing FPS with a gamepad *shudder*

Sure, we have emulators to run most of the consoles, and that's fine, but you need a few gamepads to fully re-create the proper experience :)

Well like i posted before check this out.
Why use a cheap rip off computer game pad when you can actually use the original.

Console:
It runs on the big screen, you use a nice game pad which provides a different gaming experience.
There are fighting games that you just can not play on a PC such as Tekken, Mortal Combat, Soul Calibur etc.

PC gives you more.
More powerful, better graphics, more open to changes, you can always upgrade your system to get better performance.
You can always buy a game pad to reproduce the feeling as you would on a console.
Also, I don't like the fighting games which is the only problematic genre in the PC.

After all that, I think I'll go with the PC.

You should see my brother's Arcade set up.
I'll post pictures of his home made arcade joypad.
Plus a console game will never be as good as the original arcade fighting game.
I wont post links or anything but get MAME.
Best arcade emu ever.

Anyways as soon as I get my hands on a cam I'll take pictures of the one my brother made.
Its all black and its awesome.
It works for Dreamcast PSX PS2 and PC.

And for the big tv argument a decent video card will let you output your pc on a TV.

Console:
You can always buy a game pad to reproduce the feeling as you would on a console.

I'm using the original PS2 controller.
Like I say and will always say why use a cheap rip off of the Playstation controller when you can use the original !
(If you guys noticed most controllers are mostly always based on the sony concept...)

Having grown up on the SNES and having migrated to the PC in 2000, I have the following to say:
The good old consol games were more "fun". Sure they did not have flashy graphics, surround sound, internet multiplayer or upgradeable hardware, but they were "games". Today's PC titles are "interactive movies" that display technical brilliance and stunning presentation, but generally lack in the game play and replay ability. There is something intangible, something lacking in today's games that the old games had. I have replayed SNES titles like Donkey Kong dozens of times, but I can only name 1 or 2 PC games that I have replayed even twice. The level of technical knowledge needed to properly enjoy PC gaming is over the tops of most peoples heads and requires much more $$$$. Plug-and-play ease is very attractive on the consoles, but means that game play is just about the only thing you will get in a game. The technical challenge that turns many off of PC, is what I long for. Seeing greater then HD resolution pixel shaded 10000 troop armies march on each other in glorious surround sound in amazing from a technical standpoint, but there is little core game play involved. Navigating a little monkey on a flickering 19in TV to land on the head of a monster and just going from point A to point B is not impressive technically, but is addictive and SIMPLE.
In conclusion: If I want to play a "fun" "game", then the consol is a better choice.
If I want to "experience an interactive movie", the PC is much more enjoyable. Simplicity is what makes games fun, but PC gaming is still my cup of tea as I like to do more then just play games, I want to "experience" them.

P.S.: the new consoles arguably are blending the line between PC and consol, and will soon make this debate pointless as there will be less and less difference in the two gaming styles. When this happens, "gaming" will die, and be reborn as virtual movies.
