According to News.com some plasma TV owners have threatened
to take legal actions not agaisn't the manifacturers of these screens but the TV channels for not moving their logos around the screen a bit.
Apparently if you watch TV on the same channel for too long the channel's logo can merge with that part of the screen forever.
The TV Channels have responded saying that the users of those screens should turn down the contrast of their TVs.

Bah anyone who really knows what they are talking about and not because they want the commission will tell you plasma tvs are crap. Go DLP or LCD.

No, stay away form DLP. DLP uses a spinning color wheel that must be timed properly to get your colors onto your screen. If the motor begins to slow, you loose color. It's crap.
Stick with LCD or LCoS (which is what I have  ).

I didn't know that. Do you know anyone who has actually had that happen with a DLP?

No, I haven't come across anyone who has had that problem. The technologies is only a few years old, so I wouldn't expect the motor to fail this early in its life. But, from experience with electric motors, there is a potential for it to have that problem. Bearings wear out and the motor begins to slow.
Anyway, here is a link to Texas Instrument's DLP site: http://www.dlp.com/
It describes the technology.
Granted, all technologies have potential for failure, but I really don't think a motor in a TV is a good thing.

Right now, the best price-to-performance ratio is an LCD-projection TV. It's almost as slim as an LCD or DLP, and won't cost you an arm & a leg to repair. Regular LCD or DLP TV's are a real pain to fix, whereas an LCD projo can be fixed by the mere switch of the burnt out bulb
Also, people who suffer from migraines aren't recommended to watch DLP, as the constant spinning colour wheel could contribute to said migraine headaches :(
Plasma is a dying tech.... They've got a 4-5 yr shelf life max, and use 10 times the energy of a regular TV to run. And the picture will look like crap with anything but an HD signal.... Not worth it IMO
