Anyone who has played and is playing Call of Duty 2 have the problem with the game crashing and giving you a popup saying something about directx has encountered an unrecoverable error? Sometimes the game worked in DX9 mode and more so it crashes more. Seems the patch only improves performance in dual core CPUs. I hope Activision fixes this but since the game has been out for a while I guess they don't care. I am using nVidia v81.89, NF4 v4.70 drivers and the latest DX drivers.

How true. I hate it. People pay for games and publishers don't help users at all; its just more $ for them and then they can laugh all the way to the bank.

People pay for games and publishers don't help users at all

That really depends on the publisher...
I believe that nowadays, that every game can be downloaded, the publisher should pay more attention to customers or they will just download the games and won't buy them...

You're absolutely right. One can easily (and illegally  ) download almost every game that has been released. That's why people who DO BUY games, are expecting to get a decent service and customer support for the product/game they were paying for. So...game developers must really pay attention to their customers' needs/demands or... they'll just lose them. :(

That's why I buy games mostly from well-known companies that have a good reputation for service and support. It's good to know that whether you have a bug or a problem with a game, a patch will be soon released and/or you'll get all the help you need to solve it. :)

did you install the latest patch (v1.01) for call of duty 2 ? I don't recommend you to do so ...I've installed the patch and I encountered a serious graphic bugs in the game (but no crashes)..

I have 6600GT but I never saw those bugs before installing the patch !
uninstall the game (keeo the save files) and reinstall it without the patch ....

I've played the game from beginning to end with the latest patch and had no noticeable glitches or crashes. But then again, not even two identicle PCs will behave the same, so it is possible that I just got lucky while I played it.

Well i'm not into piracy.
But when I see a company rushing a game out making the sutomers the beta testers and not even caring about the players i say go for it.

I tried the v1.01 patch and noting changes. I gave up and am playing Serious Sam 2 instead. Must be an nVidia bug as the same crashing results were on my 6800OC also.
