"Serious gamers will look for every possible edge over the competition, and a high-quality mouse can result in huge benefits. Both of these products were released in late 2005, and luckily for all of us prices have already gone down a notch from their original retail price, making for a more affordable choice even for those casual gamers still wanting the latest in comfort and precision when needed."
Read here (http://www.techspot.com/reviews/hardware/mouse_roundup_gaming/) to find out which mouse is the best for gaming.
You mouse users will just never give up....

I own all three of these (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/productlist/US/EN,crid=2141) it depends what I feel like using. I cant use a mouse for more then 20 min or so, It actually hurts my wrist. These I can use (any one of em) for well almost 24 hours strait. lol.
Hey Gray,
I find it very hard to play games with the mouse models you presented.
When playing a game, every second counts, and it takes a lot of time to move the fingers from the ball to the buttons instead of just positioning your fingers on the buttons and move the whole mouse while keeping your fingers on the buttons.

And for my keybaord it was a whole black keyboard by my friend has a white one so we switched all the keys xcept i kept the
TAB, W R A S D Shift C Ctrl and spacebar with the Up down left right arrows black for gaming.
It really looks nice. hehe

You should give the top modle a try.
You said you would "move your fingers from the ball to the buttons", you never do that with any of the modles I listed. Your fingers stay right on the buttons.
Also you say you have to move the whole mouse, hmmmm move whole mouse right (to do a 180 right turn) using whole arm and hand (maby you pivot your hand but your arm still moves) or simply move right thumb only 1/2 inch to turn 180 right (as in the trackball)
The mechanics suggest, that if every second counts less movement is better; and faster.
I just find trackballs to be more responsive and a mouse cumbersome, that and the comfort for extended periods is Awsome. I like seeing people at a lan party with a stiff wrist 1/2 way through. It just never happens with a TB.

Well I been playing for years without even a mousepad with my wrist right on my desk and to tell the truth I never really did care.
Plus for response time I guess your right for the trackball but if your not satisfied with a mouse you can just set your sensibility all the way to the top then you would just move a little.
But then again I guess its preference based...

This is exactly why my buddy now swears by his trackball mouse. It's an aquired taste, he says, but once you get used to it, you can NEVER go back....
Myself, I hate'em and prefer my Logitech MX510  :) I've used Logitech mice for as long as I can remember and would recommend their line (or any of their products) without hesitation :) 8)
As for the article: LONG LIVE LOGITECH! :P
