If you haven't already figured it out or don't want to pay for a legit program w/e to put dvds on your ipod i would suggest the following.... Personally I used one of those damn cds that comes with ur mobo, or vid card or whatever that does all this "video editing" and on it has a nifty tool where you throw dvds onto your hard drive i would than use the videora ipod converter to convert them to proper format than import the file to itunes and BAM u got urself a genuine IPOD MOVIE FOR UR genuine IPOD, this is also useful to convert dvds onto ur psp memory stick, or xbox,

Videora(U need this to use the ipod converter)

I work at Circuit City in the MP3 player department and I always sell the Video IPod on the fact that viewing full length feature films is possible on them. I do not, however, know what the best software is to do so freely. When you say Personally I used one of those damn cds that comes with ur mobo, or vid card or whatever that does all this "video editing" what software you are mentioning exactly? I would really like to know as I need something simple to recomend to my customers who mostly arn't geeks like us. ITunes 7 needs to do this in my opinion, but until then Videora is what I have been leaning towards as it is free, although I do not have a Video Ipod myself to test it for sure. What DVD ripping software is best for this application and also free?
Or is there a free program that can do both at the same, rip and convert to predifined Ipod settings? Thanks for starting the topic and I look foward to your ideas.

There is no free one that I have found so far that can rip and send directly to iPod format but the ripping software i use to put it on my mobo is Video Suite 9 but any dvd ripping software that could even just rip a DVD to your Hard drive would work aswell. Also don't sell the ipod saying it can't watch a full movie as my iPod will last just over 2hours and I can watch a full movie.(Its the 30g which lasts less time than the 60g) So yeah I hope that helps you

Thanks for the information gimp. A DVD ripper software and Videora should do it is think, I just hope my non-techie customers can figuar it out as it would need two software programs and two steps involving format and resolution settings. Some people can be supprisingly illiterate when it comes to technology...

Yeah I work at a PC store where we do upgrades, virus scans, the works, it is erally funny how some people know absolutely nothing, and yet it is terrifying at the same time.

Can't we get these types of posts deleted after banning the spam bots ?

It looks bad to have all those spam posts in the forum even after banning the users.Deleting spam posts will also save some (a bit,but still)disk space of the BJ3D server. :) Didn't want to revive the 1 month old thread but i thought i should say it. ;)
