This actually tells you where we stand in the Folding System. I do not know if Drews report is working right since my Scott is showing up but I am not on his.

He may not be able to handle two of the same names.

I am still somewhat very confused how does it work and what does it do and how do I make it so I am viewed as doing this with your forum/site

Well its easy when you instal the program it will ask you for your user name.
You put in any user name you want and then your team number right under it.
Put in 41608.
Now i'm no biochemist but I will try to explain to you what it does.
Protein folding is when a protein becomes its real form wich are the building block of your body.
Protein molecules are unbranched chains of Amino Acid.
After folding they can achieve their primary goal.
Let's say you build a house its all good if you have the frame but how will it hold together.
With cement of course !
Now with this program it uses your cpu to figure out how protein fold.
Now when you have a cancer or let's say alzheimer doctors know that it is caused by incorectly folded proteins.
So by knowing how proteins fold we could understand how to cure cancer and a lot of other illness.
I won't go any further because this is not my domain even though before going into electronics I was going into kinesiology wich is the study of muscles.
Anyways I support this and I urge everyone to make their parts.
I mean maybe people don't have money to give to fondations but wouldn't you be happy if millions of people could be saved in the future because you helped scientists understand this...

The choice is yours !

Oh that makes sense I will definately fold than how much cpu power does it use though?

You can set this in the options.
Just go in Configure -> Advanced -> CPU Usage Percent.
From there on move the slider all the way to the right for 100% and to the left if you want to lower it.
The thing though in Core Priority you can leave it at Lowest Possible so whenever you open something up or play a game then the game will have priority over folding@home.
The option below Slightly Higher is to let Folding@Home be more important then other processes.

I would join but it looks way beyond my small brains capacity.

I have joined the team!!!

Will be folding whenever I do not need the excess CPU power (that is, when not gaming or doing media encoding).

Cool!!
