that future games should designed by the plyers in the mean of open source or other means.

and that game designers are learning a lot from the gamers and should continue in that way

I must agree.

While having not read that article, I can say that the person "consuming" a product usally knows best what they want. This is why modding is so popular and should be supported. It allows new ideas from a much better and larger base of IP to come together and NOT be pressured by a budget, popularity, sales, deadlines and competition. With most Sci-Fi shows, the fan fiction is many times as good if not better then the original "canon". Same thing with video games. The only problem is that many games are difficult to mod with lots of hard code that can not be altered. More open source options would allow players to create new gaming expirences that THEY want to play. Just my 2 cents.
