Hi!

We have released a new Review called: PowerColor X1900 XT -- 48 Horsemen.
Here is a small summary of the Review:"The increase in Arithmetic Logic Units to Texture Units (3:1 from 1:1) is a step in a right direction where more recent shaders tend to carry heavier proportion of arithmetic instructions (example, F.E.A.R). Next generation game titles will most likely go even further and use additional math operations on the data. With 48 pixel shader processors new fetch4 texture lookup and parallax occlusion mapping ATI seems to be set for the near future -- unless NVIDIA decides to walk ATI's path (it's very likely it will) or even surpass its ALU:Tex ratio. There is the other side of the coin however. Many will consider 16 Texture Units to be a limiting factor for R580. That's logically correct, but with newer applications it's the GPU with less ALUs that's going to be a bottleneck .... "

You can find the whole Review here: http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=867

We would love to hear your comments about both the Review as well as the item we are reviewing in this thread.

Best regards

Just read it, excellent review. You just reassured me that the next video card I'm getting will be a X1900 XT, that is unless Nvidia's G71 suddenly appears out of nowhere. If I knew that Nvidia's G71 it's set to hit the market in a month or two I would wait for it and compare it to ATI's best and then decide which card to get, but since there's so little info known about the G71, I just fear it would just be too long before the card is released. It's not worth waiting 4 to 5 months for the next best video card since new video cards are released pretty much every 6 months or so.

Very good read. As a owner of a older PowerColor card, I can confirm that they always seem to clock their cards just a tad under the other big name brands, I have no idea why they do this, but it's been that way on the 2 different cards I've owned from this company. The same also applies to the over clocking, the PowerColor cores just don't seem to clock as high as the others, its like they end up with the last of the litter so they say. The ram on my cards has always clocked as well as the others, just the cores can't keep up.
With this all said, I still would buy another one of their cards as they are normally a bit cheaper than the rest, and I'm not into conpetitive benching anymore........... I go for a nice middle of the road OC and leave it there anymore. PowerColor cards have always provided me with 100% stable reliable cards in the past even though they may not clock as high as some of the others.

amazing card from ATI. The new 1900 sure is packed with all the features and performances. I am excited ot see what nvidia will bring to the ring to compete with ati.

I suspect that nVidia will bring in a ringer.
