View Full Version : And your first ride was?
BAAAMMM. The most amazing (albait a bit small) Sex mechine, ever built. lol
The Renault Alliance!
OK mine was a little lighter in colour (maby faded by the sun) but this was a fast little car. A 1.7L 4 pot power plant rockekted this 1997 baby along. :)
This is the closest picture thar I could find to what I had. Mine had a hard top on it though.
lol I found a wasps nest and dog food in my air intake (stopped by the filter. lmao!) O and a couple of chereos as well.
God I loved this thing! Burn outs, e-brake turns (everyone knew that my car did them a lot, and to stay back. lmao!)
Aparently Sparks used to fly out during the U turnes! apparently it was quite a show!
Hey, your first car is always your best!
What was your first ride?

If you had one of these baby's, of course any discriminating Owner would own one of these.

My first was a '65 Comet Cyclone GT. It ran low 10's in the brackets in the early '70's.

O man look at these babys coming in.
I just remember how much fun (& freedom) that thing brought to my high school days. Ok I did not have the back seat of the Suburban or the crazy horse power of the Comet but hey, keep em coming everyone!

Here's a shot of the basic motor in my little baby. I was 17 when I built this thing.

Same as this but mine was black. Rebuilt a 327 and tossed it in there, boy did it scream.

My first and only ride is not a new (old?), cool, powerful chick magnet like the beauties listed above. It is a lowly, but economical, 1994 Toyota Corola with manual tranie. I may not be a car geek either, but I still know my place, I have the equivilent of a Dell  .
The price was 0$ which can not be beat. :D 32miles for $2 is not bad either.

This is not actually my car, I found this picture on the internet, but mine looks just like it (except it doesn't have those rims). :) :P

The Internet (& Google) are amazing. Here's a photo of a gold 1971 Dodge Dart Swinger that looks exactly like the one I first drove (back in 1976):

Funny (true) story about the car: My mom was so frazzled from teaching *me* (the first-born) to drive, that 2 years later, *I* was the one who taught my younger sister to drive. On the very first lesson, she nearly took out a STOP sign, due to a "special feature" of the car. She had driven less than a city block and had come to an intersection where she needed to turn right. Halfway through the turn, the horn started blaring, and she let go of the steering wheel! I was able to grab the wheel and turn enough to keep us from hitting the stop sign, but we did wind up on the neighbors lawn. Luckily, my sister was able to regain her composure and apply the brakes; otherwise we might have gone into the creek. Why did the horn go off? The car had a horn switch built into a rubber rim around the steering wheel that triggers when you squeeze the steering wheel tightly. (The way you grip the wheel when you're learning to drive, especially when turning.)

1966 Buick Skylark, 4 doors, white exterior, white walls, green vinyl interior, only driven by my little old lady mother. Gawd I was glad to get rid of that thing!

My first car was a 85 RX-7 FB
2 place and pretty fast.
I had bought it in Las Vegas.
And brought it back to Canada when I had to move.
I had race a porsh on the way back and it was a very close race but the guy gave up cause there was
snow and we were going to pretty close 200 until a very large curve came up.
Good thing there were no cars around cause a made an unwanted lane change :p
Here`s a pic of the exact one I had.

My twin brother and I shared a 1970 Ford Galaxie (http://www.galaxieparts.com/1970_Ford_Galaxie.html). It was jet black with a red pinstripe. It felt like a tank when we were on the road. :)
We put two 10" Kicker subs in the huge trunk so we could "pump up the jams." ;)
