Colleagues at PC Welt tested a Blu Ray Disc - BD - burner from Samsung. The B022 is the first of a very long list of BD burners to hit the retail market. This one comes with an ATAPI interface and 8MB of cache. Burning 25GB of data took 45 minutes. The translation says that this is already a full production hardware with no flaws at all and excellent burning speed. It is obviously, for now, a toy for the rich with prices likely to hover above the £100 with priecs of media several times that of 16x DVDs.

Well, it looks like an amazing piece of hardware (toy?) for me.
I'll sure put my hands on one of those as soon as prices will fall when other companies will release their own versions and competition will start working for us.

this is still first rev of the BD writers so my guess in 1 year it will be the price of DVD-RW
and the burning speed will be tripled :D

Yeah, of course your guess will probably not be too far from the truth considering the latest development in the subject and hardware advancement / price drops history.

I'll try something with you guys, hope you'll get my thinking ;)

My question:

It's in the start of solitude.
Yet, it sometimes solves loneliness.
Involves a young prince, a queen and a king
Along with a bunch of servants.

What game am I talking about, guys?
