I sure hope those are real game play shots. If they are I see a HDTV in my office when PS3 comes out.
LOL,
Amazing, aren't they ???
I hope they are real as well, marketing can be deceiving.
And if so, be sure I'll jump to your office for a short visit ;)

Hmm... they look suspiciously like CG cutscenes to me... kind of like the Killzone 2 reel shown at this year's E3.... gameplay? or pre-rendered? YOU DECIDE! :?

Give me actual gameplay and then I will judge. All this CG hype crap doesn't wow me.

it actually looks real
i couldn't image playing in that detail - if the sund is that level alos sony would kill XBOX 360.

liqnit: Why? Xbox 360 can output that details easily also.
With a HDTV you get amazing graphics with the 360 and I'm 100% sure with the PS3 also.
Not sure if the Tekken shots are in-game or cutscenese but the Gundam shots certainly look valid.

Did you even see those E3 vids of supposely real time gameplay but it was more CG/pre-rendered footage.
You don't have to be so skeptical.
Just try to remember the graphic boost when moving from PS1 to PS2 for that matter...
So why is it so surprising?
It is possible that those are pre-rendered.
But I want to believe they are not :)

the one thing I can't stand about these new consoles are the controllers, so used to PC. got a Gamecube for my son, god it is hard to get used to get looking around in a shooter game compared to keyboard and mouse.

I think it is much more intuitive to use a controller than to use the keyboard, although I am a PC gamer as well...
I used to have a PS2 for a short time, and one the greatest things about it is the controller.
But that's my opinion.
It's all a matter of habit as well...

They look like cutscenes to me. I'm rooting for the PS3, I'm not buying an Xbox 360 cuz I want a PS3, but still I think those are just cutscenes.
The new PS3 controller is what really disappoints me. The current PS and PS2 controller's design is the best there is IMO, it's so comfortable and accessible. Why in the world would they change it to something as uncomfortable and odd shaped as the one they have now? Even most PC controllers are shaped like the original PS controller (Logitech Rumblepad 2 being my favorite PC controller ever). I hope they fix it before launch.

I'm also more used to console controllers now. Regardless what type of game I feel confortable with the controller.
I've even started to use the Xbox 360 controler on my PC. Trackmania Nations is much more fun that using the keyboard.
Makubex_GB: I wonder if they really will make the controller like that considering the response so far. I never had the chance to test the controller at E3 last year at the Sony event but it looks odd. I wonder how it feels holding it.

I agree, the PS2 controller was just perfect.
I loved it, all buttons placed exactly where needed, accessible and easy-going.
The grip was just perfect and I see the new PS3 controller a mysterious and dangerous move by Sony...
A lot of controllers imitated Sony's dualshock2 controller.
I never held the PS3's controller actually so I wouldn't know if it is an improvement or not comparing to the previous one.
Still, it is should be interesting to see where this issue goes to.

None of those, except *maybe* the third one, look like real gameplay, they all look like cutscenes.

I think that they've already decided to ditch that boomerang controller.
