View Full Version : Ignore List Issue

I accidentally put someone on ignore, but I can't remove them. I was able to get to the ignore page, but when I selected to remove them from the list, I got an error page. Do I need permission to un-ignore someone, or is it just a malfunction?

I'm looking into it. Gonna see if there was something gone wrong with the latest forumupdate. I'll get back to you tomorrow on this.

Nope, I spoke too soon. It's back on. When I try to remove his ignore, I get this message:

Could not delete user from ignore table

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'AND user_id = 2287' at line 4

DELETE FROM phpbb_ignore WHERE user_ignore = AND user_id = 2287

Line : 88
File : ignore.php

If I could make one suggestion, I think that the ignore button might be a bit too close to the quote button.

Negative. Not working yet. Poor pym is still on iggy.

Using the ignore.php link that was posted, I got the same error as above except I get:

DELETE FROM phpbb_ignore WHERE user_ignore = AND user_id = 929

Hey! 929! That's me!

Hey! 929! That's me!

Apparently, I'm 2287. Is this like the Stonecutters?

Is this like the Stonecutters?

As in The Sacred Order of the Stonecutters?

Ah crap I accidently hit the Ignore button instead of the Quote button and can't delete the person I put on my Ignore list. I hope this gets fixed.

maybe we should put the ignore bottom separate from quote or move it to somewhere less likely to be clicked.

you guys have to stop ignoring people:).

Bjorn is working on it. The mod to do it is not working right and he is trying to fix it.

Just thought I would let you know.

Come on guys, it's not that easy to hit. I thnik Bjorn is fixing it by going to the new bulliten boards soon and everyone will see each other again. He has been having problems trying to get this forum software to work right. So I told him just get the new site ready with the new software.

I think its because when you post in a forum long enough you don't think about what you are clicking. You just click it without thinking. I'll be careful and think next time hehe

A possible solution:
Perhaps when a user clicks on "Ignore" a pop-up or something similar comes up asking something like "Are you sure you want to place this user on "Ignore"? ...to avoid any accidental clicks and/or hasty trigger fingers

Yeah I think that is a good idea. Something to confirm this just incase a person made and error. Also you could always just disable the ability to ignore someone. I mean who really is gonna ignore someone else?

We could also just put the ignore button under someone's nickname and maybe change the color of the ignore.
Like instead of blue make it red.
I think just putting the ignore button somewhere u usualy don't click would fix the problem...
