That's good news. Thanks liqnit for calming me down.

Since I own a Maxtor SATA 120GB and I plan to upgrade soon to NF4 board I got worried that I'll face problems with my HD.

Now, I guess it'll be OK. At least I hope so...

it's been known for awhile now. Actually Maxtor has been fixing it for awhile now but they hadn't post on their webstie till now. Like it was before though, you would have to call in in order to get the firmware fix.

That's the reason I changed to WD SATA drives when I built my DFI NF4 system. I really didn't feel like messing with all that junk. And now I have no plans on buting anything from Maxtor until after all the dealings are complete and they offer some new drives.
I really hope the support of the Maxtor HD goes better with Seagate than it did when Maxtor bought out the Quantum HD division..............

Hmmm, that can be doubtful, remember when Nvidia absorbed 3dfx, Nvidia stopped 3dfx cards support.
As you did, I wouldn´t buy Maxtor drives, I have a bad expierence with soon to be disappeared company. For the same reason I would not buy an ULI chipset in this situation

Not only did they stop supporting the cards almost immediately, the remaining cards disappeared from the shelves practically overnight.
