This has been posted by liqnit already but I wanted to give a more indepth...
Well according to the Washington post Microsoft has released
a product wich detects Norton anti virus (one of its rival) as a spyware and then deletes it.
The recent update for Microsoft anti-spyware, detects Norton as a password-stealing program, and promps the user to delete it.
Version 5805, 5807 the latest definitions file from Microsoft detects it as PWS.Bancos.A ( a passwrod stealer as I mentionned above)
As many of you already know when you mess up with Norton it hits you back and back hard.
For advanced users just deleting registry entries won't be too hard to get Norton off then reinstalled but for the regular users this will be a headach...
- An update should be released soon to fix this quite big problem.
