John Reynolds posted up a new review of ATi's Crossfire X1800 (http://www.simhq.com/_technology2/technology_077a.html), and I think the best words to describe his impressions would be "less than impressed so far".
It's a good read, gives some insight into Xfire that you don't often seem to hear from reviewers....and John is still one of the best around. :)
(Alright, and he's a good friend too so I'm probably a bit biased....but he's damned good!)
Roger that.
Thanks for the SitRep.

The performance differance between the 1800 and 1900 are like nite and day, as most if not all those that reviewed the 1800 cross fire have stated. I really cann't remember to many folks that were impressed by the 1800 reguardless or flavor. Now the 1900 is another story all together................

QFT. The 1900 seems much more like a new chipset than a refresh from the reviews, they did something really right with it.
I'm just glad they didn't delay it since the 1800 was delayed, that would have sucked....as it stands their 1900's excellent hard launch really put the pressure back on nVidia both for performance AND for launch expectations.
I'm actually hoping nVidia responds well. As much as I personally prefer ATi I really prefer for the two companies to be comptetitive as all hell, then it's us consumers who seem to win. :)
