QUiet i think after awaile it is all that you ask from a computer.
and this VGA cooler delivers it - with heatpipes.
even that the test was on low level VGA (X300) you can see the potential

Of course it is on a slower video card taht doesn't generate alot of heat. Put this on a 7800 or 1900 and forget about it.

until they test on such as 7800 we will not know the answer :D

For me, silence is the most important thing in a PC!
Since it is in my bedroom and I want it on while my wife's sleeping or when downloading stuff at night.

I donīt know for sure as the vendor doesnīt say it at all. What I meant is that it could work, as there is a silent 7800GT as the heatsink is similar or at least I think so, I can be wrong:

Thermalright makes some silent/fanless coolers for the high-end card market. What fan you use or if you use one is up to you and what card you want to cool.

"ATI:
Radeon 9800, X700*, X800*, X850 (*: Check for details)

NVIDIA:
GeForce 6600*, 6600 GT*, 6800, 6800GT, 6800 Ultra, 7800GT, 7800 GTX (*: Check for details)

Wow, you have a kind wife. My fiance would never allow this. The the monitor lights and keyboard would be enough to keep her up.

I thought that that was just a water cooled system, or, more correctly, a video card that can be connected to a water cooled system. At least the one that I saw was.

Water cooling with silent fans or passive water is the best but also the most expensive way to get quiet.............

My newest block on my X800XL;

I was speaking about this card:

I think that this card is not watercooled, correct me if Iīm wrong, it was the best card silent cooled

Yep, that's the one that I had seen too. My mistake, it definitely is air cooled.

Hope you have a big case though.

That must increase the case temps by alot since the radiated heat just sits in the case.

I saw a review of one of those not to long ago I think, I'll have to try and find it again.

To use coolers like those, you'd need to have a case with some great air flow that's for sure.

... Which may defeat the purpose of having a fanless graphics card.

Well you can't really say that since it still is a fanless graphics cards. The exhaust fans would just have to move the heat out of the case.

Heres a couple of reviews I found:

In order to keep the card cooler, they implement faster memory of 1.6ns instead of 2ns, with that, they can run the card at the same speed of the other cards but cooler, it seems that the heatsink of the card is enough, although it would be good to have a silent air flow into the case, there are some 12mm fans that are silent

after readinmg some the reviews it looks like fanless is not a bad overclocker.
and even people that want to expirement can try this and still get total silence
