The bjorn3d review rightly indicates that the HIS X800 GTO is a good card but BEWARE it has a problem. Set the fan speed at anything less than 100% and it starts clicking like a cricket or a ciccada.
Don't bother to look for support from HIS they fail to respond to their own web site support forms or any other emails!
I take it from your words that the fan is noisy.
Else, why would you set the fan speed to less then 100%?
I made a small research on this.
Maybe you'll find your answers over here:

I have the card in a small form factor pc case on my desk beside me so am therefore more aware of the fan noise than if it was, for example, on the floor. At 50% setting the fan is all but noiseless. HIS make much about the facility to control fan speed and thus noise levels. However, the reality is that you reduce one noise only to get another.
Thanks for the url to Arctic Cooling, I have found this previously. If I were to take power directly from the PSU then I would lose the abililty to control the fan speed.
What really makes me mad is that there is no response from HIS to requests for support, that almost annoys me more than the faulty card!
Well, sorry I wasn't much of a help.

I can really understand your feeling, it is quite frustrating.
I was in the same situation with a faulty camera (Canon's E18 known issue) and got no response...
Now I know not to buy their products ever again.
This is how companies hurt their reputation!
