amd's next dual core based on the pentium M seems to hold quite a lot of promises compare to amd64 dual core. Although I think it would be nice to include 64bit.

Don't worry, soon enough AMD will drop as well.
That's the meaning of competition.
Just for the record, I like them better too.

my guess after launch of AM2 it will do a nice drop in the prices
the only question will be if they will continue to manufacture the 939 socket DualCOre or let the market die....

The sooner the better ;)
About 939, I beleive it won't die so quickly.

the 939 still is a good sock and the CPU potential espically the dualcore ones are only at the begining.
i would love to see comparison between 939 & AM2

I think it is too early to think about getting a AM2.
No point in it, for now, 939 is just great until proved otherwise.

I think once the am2 is released, amd will slowly move the socket 939 into the budget market, hance drop the price a bit. However, like the socket 754, I think amd won't drop the price that much.

They can't drop the price above a certain percentage...
They will just take the product out of market once new products come out and push it far backwards, in technology terms that is...
