Has anyone ever tried MS's anti-spyware program? I use Spybot myself, are there better ones?

havan't tried will love to get opinion about it
Never tried it either, I use SpyBot (which is great) and Ad-Aware SE.
They give pretty nice protection together, I scan with SpyBot and then complete the scan with Ad-Aware.
Gray had a thread once about this issue and gave a useful link there, take a look:

Yep, I used to do the exact same thing on my laptop. I guess that I've become a bit lazy.
Well, you shouldn't be, it is wuite important to protect your computer against spyware, but I guess you already know that ;)

I tried the Defender today against my Ad-Aware Pro today just for S&G's.
Defender didn't find everything that Ad-Aware Pro did. I'll stick with my Ad-Aware for the time being...............

The program it's self seemed to work just fine, no errors or hanging and all the options worked. It just didn't find/stop all the tracking cookies that Ad-Aware Pro did.
As for taking up ram/cpu usage, I'd say that Defender was slightly higher, but not so much that you really notice.

I have used and still sometimes use Ad-aware and Spybot and ewido security suite as well. I tried Microsoft Anti-Spyware too and it was very useful - find some things that others programs didn't see. That new Windows Defender is as good as Microsoft Anti-Spyware, but it hasn't found any crap from my computer yet. Maybe my computer is clean and don't have any crap, maybe Windows Defender just don't find anything.
