Hang in there, gimp. You've come this far. Might as well finish it. Prices will be coming down soon enough.

I'm sure I bought my SLI board for the same reason.

It's part of the design plan that will be fulfilled soon enough.

7800GT's will be sub $250 shortly. Almost there now.

Crazy gaming just a pci-e slot away.

It's insane.

Must obey the voices in my head.

eVGA 256-P2-N516 Geforce 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card is $250 after $20 rebate plus $4.99 shipping at Newegg.com right now:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130256

Sadly, rebate is US only. Not a bad little card for the money though.

However, with the release of a new chipset by nVidia shortly, prices will get better. :)

Well I wold be gettin a 7800gt OC by BFG, as I already have a BFG one and I like how they are factory, OCD, and have lifetime warranty, plus I would like to keep the same company regardless of the new drivers that allow otherwise.

Understood. I'll be sticking with XFX myself; hoping for best compatability.

Hmm, if you are planning to not to upgrade in some time, then go for it, but also think about the new dx10 cards that will be released latter this year. Also, SLI is not guaranteed in every game but if you feel you need it and you are happy having that SLI rig, go for it, the best of buying new parts is that you feel happy with them.

That's the whole reason you bought an SLI motherboard. Do it!

Go for the 24" wide screen, that might stress your cards a bit more and will also give you some great gaming............... 8)

Congrats, gimp. Keep us informed.

I can attest that 24" of LCD gaming might is a sight to behold. Absolutely fabulous.

Doing research for a 20" LCD myself. My grfx beastie needs a monitor makeover.

Looking at the Dell 20" widescreen 2005FPW. Max resolution is 1680X1050.

Dell is supposed to announce new LCD's this Friday (Feb. 24th). Gonna wait til then to see what happens.
