Soon I will have a new forum setup for XFX products. This forum will have XFX techs and staff looking thru them to help out the end users.
Just thought I would give you a heads up to more of whats coming.

Excellent idea, Scott!

that would be nice. With xfx sponsoring us and giving out such nice products. It' snice that they also hang out here and troubleshoot for US. Maybe they will give out more cards and stuff, then all the member will be using xfx and then it will be a XFX family:).

Good news!!!
If XFX staff is here, sure there will be more people joined into the forum and that is superb.
Now, I understand why you are going to redesign the forum

One must be careful what one wishes for.
Quantity does not always equate to quality.
Sometimes it seems like a scene out of Soylent Green over at the XFX forums.
Not too sure though how many of them make the grade when it comes processing time.

Good to hear. The forum is one of the most underappreciated forms of feedback and support, and is severely underutilized by most companies.

Hurrah! Now, we'll have to make sure we make the effort worth their while.
Frank, I know exactly what you mean. I've been suggesting my company use a forum for questions and feedback for a while now. I still have to phone into a call center to ask a question! A forum would allow not just "Tier 3" engineers to answer, but also other field techs that have run into the same situation. It would free up the call center to handle emergencies.
Of course, YOU know all that! :D Here I am preaching to the choir.

That's good news.. but is also kinda worrysome no? Won't it make you inclined to write and say nicer things about there products?
I do believe that more forums need some peeps from both sides of the fence. Like ATi/nVidia and AMD/Intel... but having only one side of the fence worries me as this is what they have going on at Rage3D and NVNews.

What brand are your two 7800GTX 512MB cards? Just curious.
As long as it stays fair and balanced it's all good..:) And I don't mean Fox News style Fair and Balanced..:p

Ahhh, I used to get the same thing from ATi, AMD and Intel through Tech Data and Ingram Micro when I owned my own PC business. Get keychains, posters, samples, products.. quite fun.
In the PC business however it did sway me a tad I won't lie. I ended up recommending more of a certain product if the company treated me better.
In the review business I imagine it's a tad different as you keep the samples where as I would sell them.

Man! I didn't get lots of good stuff when I was in purchasing.
Oh well.
Anyway, it's good to see both Nvidia and ATI taking an interest here.

Scott's been doing this a long time and I've been coming here since early 1998 when I bought my first Rendition card. Other than the initial Rendition bias when the site was in its infancy (it was a rendition oriented site after all) everything here has been pretty objective. I know there was a time when Scott was potentially going with an Nvidia site route but after some problems with that this site firmly became an all around computer hardware site and I haven't seen an advertisers influence overtake their morals one bit. Quite the opposite in fact, there have been times when a sponsor has tried to exert influence over the site and Scott and the gang promptly told them where to go.
I don't think you have any worries at all about XFX or ATI supporting the forums. I'm sure the site will continue to be run by a group of guys that take their job seriously and that are looking to provide accurate, unbiased information and not act as a fansite for the highest bidder.
