Vista needs the monitor to support HDCP - support needed for high-resolution playback of HD-DVD and Blu-Ray discs on your PC.
HDCP stands for High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection - the data is protected all the way from the pc to the screen and cannot be copied in normal ways.
if your monitor deos not support HDCP then you can only use the analog out from the card.
