One of the things I loved about the call of duty series is the large scale battles in single player where big groups of allied and enemy NPC's fighting each other was fantastic. I also loved the fantastic scripted sequences and the feeling of chaos in the battles. It's makes the experience fantastic.
Are there any other first person shooters (On the PC and not just WW2 ones) that have:
large scale battles
Lots of scripted sequences
chaotic experience

You might like Star Wars Battlefront II, though it's more of an online game. I've owned it for months, I've never actually played the single-player mode, but those who have seem very satisfied with the game and storyline.

It's an older game, now, but Freespace and Freespace 2 have large battles between waves of fighters and capitol ships. Excellent scripted scenes and sometimes more information than you can process while flying and fighting.

Hmm, there's another one too .... Operation Flashpoint. I loved it when it came out. The battles around you were going on regardless what you did. I liked it.
Battlefield 2 is better in SP than previous games and I think i'ts pretty fun (though much more fun online)

Yeah I loved the Free Space Series of games.
There is a rumor of a BattleStar Galatica game coming built on the new series. That would freaking rock!! If you have been watching it is is cool how they can spin a Viper around and shoot while still using the momentum they had to keep going the other way.

Have you checked out Hard Light Productions (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/)? There's a bunch of player created campaigns and features added in the Source Code Project.
