The next game in the Mortal Combat series - Armageddon may be the last one, that's according to Co-Creator Ed Boon's interview.

Thank goodness! The MK series topped out with MKII IMO, and needs to finally be put to rest. MK just cannot compete with the likes of the Tekken's, Soul Calibur's, Virtua Fighter's, etc. of the new generation of gaming....

Well, I'm a long time MK fan, and it pains me to see that no MK game has been released for the PC since MK4 (which sucked more than should be legally allowed).
I was kind of hoping that with the "porting fever" that's been going on, with Onimusha 3, Devil May Cry 3, Resident Evil 4, Condemned, and even Fifa Street 2 scheduled to be released on the PC, that PC gamers might have a good fighting game. And damn, we deserve it. What's the most recent, decent fighting PC game? I can't remember anything except the two Guilty Gear X games (which were pretty good, btw).
I couldn't agree more!
I really don't understand why no decent fighter has been released to the PC gamers for so long, I used to love playing them!
My love for these games started way back...
I remember playing The Way of the Exploding fist like crazy on my Commodore 64, for those of you who know what I am talking about...
MK is a wonderful series, and all other fighters (Tekken, SC, VF etc...) for that matter.

I never was a MK fan really but it sadens me to see it go.
I remember the arcade wars when I was a kid.
I was on the street fighter side and some of my friends were on the MK side and we would argue for endless hours as to wich was better and why.
Even to the point where we wouldn't be friends anymore for a while lol...
What a great Game!
I just hope the new one has more death and distruction and spinal cord rip-outs then all the rest put togeather. lmao.
I loved it as a kid, I have not played it since, Supernintendo.
