Now wouldn't this be funny after all these years.............

"A CLAIM by a PC World hack that Apple is about to ditch OS-X in favour of Microsoft Windows has sparked protests and cartoons from the faithful."

NOOOOOO!!!! I hate to say it, but OS X is by far the better OS (at least until Vista is released). We use it at work, and it is far more stable than any Windows OS I've ever used. Also, it's quick and very user-friendly/intuitive once you've unlearned the PC commands and open your mind to a Mac...

Besides, MS seems to be ripping off Mac OS for a while now... just look at Vista and then check out OS X and you will see many similarities IE: the new Windows "Dock" (can't remember their name for it)... it emulates OS X's dock. Even the asthetics are similar now...

I hope that this news isn't true...

EDIT: crap, I notice the source of the article before I responded :P

Is this April 1st? I missed a month somewhere!

That's just nuts. If anything, Apple will adopt Linux completely with their own "MAC" interface. OS X is nearly that anyway. That will open them up to far more development for drivers and software than currently. Apple has been tied to MS Office for a long time, begging Bill to release new versions for the Mac. With Apple LinOSX, they'd have Open Office, Star Office, etc. as viable MS Office replacements. Get new LinOSX machines into Pixar and some other big places and you'll see Apple become the dominant Linux distributor.

You would also see lots of other companies switching their servers to Apple that wouldn't use Linux otherwise simply because of the name. And as market share and "Mind share" increase, so will desktop deployment.

Hey! My predictions are just as good as these others!

i doubt that this will be the case. apple has been using intel cpu so if they also allow mac to run windows, then they are practically giving up the whole computer industry to PC, then what they have left, Ipod only. I htink mac still want to keep their OS as a way to entice people using MAC.
