"News Analysis: Microsoft has pushed back plans to support of UEFI, a new type of PC firmware, in its forthcoming Windows Vista for PCs. Where the move isn't likely to disrupt the PC market, it shows the software maker continues to pare down Vista features as it works to roll out the OS this year."

I puzzled as to why MS keeps taking features out of Vista to make a release date of late this year. I know it's already been delayed but it's not like people all over are clamoring for a new OS from Microsoft. Being almost the only player out there for OS's they are still getting their OS bundled on almost every PC built and shipped today. They're making loads of money off WinXP and most users still love XP. Sure the money from people buying upgrades would be nice but come on.... People would rather wait a bit longer for a full featured OS than have a Windows Vista ME released 6 months after Vista to give us all the features originally promised and break all the things that work with Vista.

The only thing I can think of is pressure from OEM's like Dell or what they see as pressure from the Mac side.

Who knows... There's a reason I'm not running Microsoft. I'm sure the people making the decisions have their reasons. Probably dumb ones though...
