I am a bit confused as to how this software operates. I have downloaded the command line client and installed it, then it downloaded a core file that it run, then asked me if I wanted to install a Win XP service for it, and then started working.

All is fine and well, but after reboot, the service takes effect rather then the downloaded client program, and now it seems to not be giving credit to me or my team, Bjorn3D!

I have entered the group code 41608 as instructed, but now I do not know how to access a settings page or even how to uninstall the client so I can try again. So far like 20 hours of work have not been credited to our team with out my knowledge until I discovered the service was not responding to the original setup settings. Please help, I want to contribute to our team, not just team 0.

Thanks for the help! :D

Ouch man... and no replies either!

I just got the console program running today, and I had to figure out how to configure it as it crashed before I could set it up the first time, as it defaulted to anonymous as the name/team and there are a half dozen I'd lend my spare CPU time for... Afraid Anandtech won out though as they helped with my system problems after I tried the folding@home GUI client. Otherwise it would have been Ars Technica's Team Egg Roll :D

There are several ways to go about this. I'd first suggest simply Navigate to Start > Administrative Tools > Services and finding the folding@home service on that list. Right-click it > properties and type " -config " without quotation marks in the Startup parameters box. Next time it starts it should prompt you to reset or confirm it's settings :)

A complete list of other parameter commands is here: http://folding.stanford.edu/console-userguide.html (http://folding.stanford.edu/console-userguide.html)

Edited: You may need to remove the -config after you configure the program the way you want, I can't remember if this parameter is left there and gets run again, or if it is automatically removed after being used.
