"Pricing and availability for AMD's desktop AM2 offerings

We have received some rather interesting info on AMD's new range of Socket AM2 processors. According to internal AMD documents, system builders will be able to purchase the new AM2 processor starting on May 15th. Dual core and single core Athlon 64 processors will be available as well as 64-bit Sempron processors."

So I guess it might be true that the AM2 is priced similar to S939.

From what they posted there, they seem pretty darn close to the 939. I guess that's a plus anyway, but they still a bit over priced IMHO..................

Yeah and if you own a S939 rig getting a AM2 is a waste.

I'm planning on keeping my 939 for a while yet, I am waiting for the prices to drop a little more so I can get a X2 and that will be it for a while............

That's it 100%.............. I do like the Opti's better cause of the extra cache though.
