This a pretty handy new tool if you happen to have a Philips optical drive in your computer.
"Automatic firmware updates for optical drives at the click of a button
Philips (http://www.philips.co.uk/index.html) will make searching for latest firmware updates for its PC optical devices easier by having its auto-updater (http://www.storageupdates.philips.com/pia.html?http://www.dailytech.com/) find them and prompt the user to download. This will enable the users to keep their drives updated with firmware for the latest media. The Philips Intelligence Agent can be run as a system tray icon that will periodically check for updates (every 15 days by default) or it can be run when needed to look for updates. "
